The first few weeks of the season were filled with sloppy play when teams had a full TC and preseason.
Why are teams canceling practice? I haven't heard anything about that. I'm not trying to bring politics into the thread, just want to understand the reasoning. What's this about a player boycott?
Due to the recent shooting by a cop that paralyzed Blake. He was shot 7 times in the back and is fighting for his life in the hospital. He is paralyzed. Do you live under a rock? LOL
It's in reference to the Jacob Blake shooting. Started with the Bucks (they've had numerous incidents with some of their players as well). NBA boycotted games, WNBA, 3 MLB games, few tennis stars sat or will sit out. Now NFL teams aren't praticing today
I definitely heard about the shooting, just hadn't heard that players were going to boycott because of it. Thanks!
Not practicing after getting shut out by the backups. This could seriously be a 1-15 team. They need to protest the season
At least we no longer have to worry about our star safety cutting his finger off: https://nypost.com/2020/08/27/jamal-adams-almost-cut-his-finger-off-slicing-strawberries/
I knew you were and that's cool. In a sense, other than trying to keep up with Jets news and TC reports, I have been living under a rock, because I haven't had a lot of time to listen to the news. I have a lot of work right now with some deadlines fast approaching, so that's taking most of my attention.
It brakes my heart to say it but the way things are going, I see almost zero chance for a complete season, and a better chance for a total cancellation. There is just to much apprehension and unrest across the nation, conflicting priorities, and like it or not, if the virus wasn't tough enough, there are a myriad of other issues that use the NFL and sports as a forum for awareness and change. IMHO, this preseason was tough and woefully inadequate for professional NFL standards, and if we are not careful, we will soon be drifting from bad practices to a sand lot football season in 2020. I just have a bad vibe about 2020 and football in total.
Niners signed Kevin White, who also signed about 4 other WRs since the start of camp. White is what he is, and he's not great, but a team that's trying to help their young developing QB tries multiple different ways to actually help him.
I thought the same, but I just got an update that the NBA will resume normal operations next week. It seems this was a one off protest and then things will return to normal. If the NBA is resuming, then I would imagine the NFL would not have an issue. The NBA players are basically playing for free in the playoffs. The NFL players have A LOT to lose by not playing.
Good for you! I had to get rid of both of my social media accounts. I could not take the constant fighting and posts about politics. I try and remain educated on everything as I do not want to completely isolate myself from the facts and the issues surrounding me, but it is getting ridiculous. I love this forum because it gives me a nice little escape and talk football with the same love we all carry for this franchise.
Who else remembers being thrilled when the Bears took Kevin White in the draft just ahead of us so that Leonard Williams could fall? At the time he was another over-hyped 1st round WR. OK, OK, make your Leonard Williams comments all you want, but thank God we didn't make that draft error in addition to all the others. That said, it would have been ironic had he came here now. I was actually rooting for it although I have no gauge on his current abilities. Right now he looks like the Vernon Gholston of offense.
