Amazing end to the west coast game. Vegas up 3-0 with 5 minutes left in the third period. A Shark (Joe Pavelski) is cross-checked by Cody Eakin (who is ejected) and he lands on his head in an ugly way. There's a five minute major called, and the Sharks score four unanswered goals to go up 4-3. Then, with less than a minute left Jonathan Marchessault ties it back up for Vegas, sending the game to OT. And then with less than 2 minutes left in the first OT Goodrow scores to win it for San Jose. You can be sure that lots of Vegas fans, players, and coaches will complain bitterly about that five minute major penalty completely changing the game and costing them the series.
Ridiculous game. Yes, that was not a major penalty it was more of a freak play. Vegas cannot have a PK so weak they give up 4 straight...
Yeah, that was a terrible call but up 3-0 why the hell even make that play? The stupidity alone almost warrants the penalty. Even then, you’ve got to do more than their PK did.
The Golden Knights had so many chances to win in Game 6. In OT and Double OT. They were the much better team. Then last night they dominated for 50 minutes, including a 3-0 lead, and blew it. Then tied the game with 47 seconds left, had several more chances to win in OT, and eventually lost. The moral of the story: Vegas Golden Knights fans finally get to feel what it is like to be an actual NHL fan.
told my buddy 2 hours ago that this was going to 3 OT s,,let them play all nite !!!!! Let them be exhausted no offense guys but LGI

Congrats, @Section 336! Your boys never gave up and found a way to win. The Caps ran out of gas. They ran out of gas Game 6 too. Too much partying over the Summer and not enough conditioning maybe. Haha. They were it total control until Holtby messed up and allowed that short handed goal to go in. After that, besides the Kuznetsov goal, it was all Hurricanes. Carolina truly is a bunch of jerks and they never went away. Amazing. I am still proud of my team, but I truly think the best way to explain it is Carolina wanted it more. Just felt that way. Hurricanes-Islanders should be fun. Good luck!
Great series TDK. - only 2 games that weren’t nail biting. Hoping Isles/Canes can put on a similar show even though we know Game 1 will be a tall order. Rust vs Fatigue Getting Svechnikov back is going to be a key for Canes. But Rod, J Willy and Staal have the youn guys playing real hard. Canes have a really underrated defensive unit as a whole and Jacob Slavin is quietly one of the best defensive d men in league. I had to call out from work today - haha.
Agreed. They really impressed me with their defense. I still love Justin Williams by the way. He is still the man and a class act. I thought him talking about the Caps after was pretty cool. Mr. Game 7 came through again.
Granted I didn’t see the first half of the third period so I could see the draft, but the rest of the game that I did see, the Jackets didn’t look like they even belonged on the ice with the Bruins. I’ve abandoned the notion that the Jackets can beat them.
