That is a punch to the gut for the Caps. I figured 2 games but 3 is a little excessive. Certainly allows the pens to get right back in it as Wilson has been a difference maker
Yeah, that is how I feel right now. All the momentum from last night is gone. Hopefully they come out strong tomorrow, but it will be a challenge for sure.
I think the Caps have less depth this year than past years, but for some reason they are playing harder and smarter as a team. Finding ways to get clutch goals too. Might be because they are less entitled than past years. They have had to work hard this season. Hopefully they can keep it up.
Agree on the entitled part. This year they just did their thing didn’t chase the accolades and Holtby struggled which might be allowing him to up his game for these playoffs.
Best of 3! Never easy for the Capitals. Looks like Pens-Caps, Sharks-Golden Knights, and Jets-Predators will all head to Game 5 series tied 2-2. Bruins-Lightning play Game 4 tomorrow with the Bruins looking for the same result. Great playoffs so far.
Great play by Oshie to put it away. I’m not sure how Washington won this game. So many opportunities that seemed like the Penguins were going to get a game winner that normally happen that didn’t.
I'll tell you how: Holtby. He was a monster yet again. Could have easily been 5-0 Pens in the 1st. Pittsburgh could have easily put the Caps away in a dominant 2nd, but Holtby wouldn't allow it. Then Holtby made another great save right before the Caps scored the game winner. Great effort by him. I'm worried with Backstrom's injury, but the Caps are 1 win away now. Need to find a way to finish off the back to back Champs. Won't be easy. As for this Preds game: the Jets continue to impress. They may have to be the favorite to win the Cup right now. They are rolling.
The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Vegas Golden Knights punched their tickets to the Conference Finals today. Great wins for both. This has to be the best an expansion team has ever done, right? It is crazy. As for the Bolts, They won both of their series in 5, so they have played 10 games. The Caps/Pens are both playing their 12th game of the playoffs, in a very physical series, could give Tampa an edge in the next round. Both of the 2017 Stanley Cup teams are on the brink tomorrow as The Caps look to close out the champion Pens and the Jets look to close out the Preds. Won't be easy for either. How about a Jets-Golden Knights Western Conference Final? No one predicted that.
Was this the first game of the series the Caps didn’t trail in? Very impressive series by the Caps to lose the first game and bounce back; trail in each game and continue to come back. I was confident the Caps were going to win in OT; as I says before the Penguins just didn’t make the plays that had made in years past despite outplaying them.
If I remember right: Game 2 the Caps led 2-0 after 1 and held on to a 4-1 win. But yeah, Game 3 in Pittsburgh they had to come back, Game 5 they did too. They won games they definitely would have lost in past years. I am proud and impressed. Nashville forced a Game 7 Thursday with a 4-0 win in Winnipeg. Should be a great game. No hockey tomorrow or Wednesday will feel odd after non-stop hockey the last month. Thanks! It has been great so far.
