TDK, you're top shelf so don't take this personally but I'd love to see someone on Vegas lay a snot bubble lick on Tom WIlson. .
Haha, I take no offense. Every team has a player that if he isn't on your team you'd hate: That is definitely Tom Wilson on the Capitals. He has been an important part of the team's Cup run, so I still support him for sure. He just makes some boneheaded mistakes and unnecessary hits. Most of which I can't defend. Like last night, I wouldn't call it dirty, I would just call it unnecessary. I bet he and Reaves are on a collision course this round.
Another great game. Will Kuznestov be out for long? Vegas will look to match and drain the swamp on Saturday in Washington
HOLTBEAST. Wow. First Cup Final game win in franchise history. Series tied 1-1. Hope NHL fans are enjoying this series, because it has been really entertaining. Proud of the Caps stepping up after Kuzy went down too. Hope he is okay, but looked bad. He was in a lot of pain. Washington DC is going to be crazy Saturday. Actually: It already is.
Yeah, love it! This is the closest they have ever been to a Cup. It really is the toughest thing to win in sports. The Capitals (and Golden Knights) have been amazing and won 13 playoff games so far since Mid-April and they STILL need 3 more to reach the ultimate goal. So difficult.
Missed the game last night flying back from Minneapolis; though I considered watching the third period when I landed at the bar in the terminal but the hassle of trying to find my checked bag if it went unclaimed at unloading would likely been worse than the enjoyment of watching the game. Although it’s an easy goal if Tuck gets that puck into the air, what an incredible save by Holtby and will be the defining moment of the series if the Caps win it.
No doubt about it! Agreed. Hopefully it shifts momentum to the Caps and it stays that way the rest of the series. The save was great, but Holtby keeping his composure after a terrible bounce from the boards, is what impressed me the most.
@matt robinson 17: the VGK color scheme reminds me of the '94 finals. Vegas babes Washington chicks VGK roster: guys born in Oviedo, Florida, Syracuse, NY, Okla. City, OK, St. Cloud, MN, Paris, France and Ozleri, Italy.. Washington: lots of Russian collusion
Great goals by Ovechkin, Kuznetsov and Smith-Pelley lift the Capitals past the Golden Knights 3-1 and give Washington a 2-1 series lead. Holtby was great again, but did have a blunder that was literally the opposite of Game 2's "The Save". Nice to see the team back him up for once after that mistake. Can't wait until Monday for Game 4!
In a way, I kind of want the the Golden Knights to win because of the horrific massacre. It's always a boost to a grieving city no matter the method of tragedy to get a lift like that. However, if the Capitals win,I'll also be very happy for TDK. Sheese, it only took the Rangers 54 years and who knows when/if we'll ever see another one in my life time. Still waiting on the Jets for cryin' out loud (not the Winnipeg Jets, mind you) I am putting this out there right now, though. If the Caps fall, an Admin (I'm looking at you Cman) changes TDK's screen name to The Golden Knight for a period of one week. You know, for shaming purposes. lol I'm sure both TDK and matt remember this, but YEARS ago some mods were punking people by changing their avatars to these mini-Batman things. I can't remember who was behind that now. Green Machine? OK, so better yet, TDK gets the mini-Batman avatar and The Golden Knight screen name change. Perfect, haha.
Yeah, I think Mo Green was still a casino owner. Or maybe since Howard Hughes bought The Silver Slipper? Very funny, matt. One year! Oh, the agony!
Yep! It's crazy. I love the team's attitude this year led by Ovechkin and Holtby. One game at a time motto. After this game, all they would talk about was Game 4. They did not talk about being 2 wins away, or how tonight's game was good, they instantly move on to Game 4. Easy to talk like that, but I think the team truly believes it. All 3 games have been close so far though. Like last night: A couple bounces the other way and Vegas wins 5-3. On the other hand, a couple other bounces go the Caps way they could have won 5-0. So it really is best to just focus on the game at hand, because anything can happen.
Even when it was 2-0 it was a good game, and Washington’s last two goals were on defensive whiffs by Vegas. But it was Washington’s best defensive game; they didn’t give any space for the Knights to get going in.
