NBC wants better ratings, so... http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/h...l-gm-7-viewing-party-report-article-1.2651146 Who turned the lights out on the Lightning? Deadspin is reporting that according to its sources, the NHL and NBC forced the Tampa Bay Lightning to cancel Thursday night’s planned fan viewing party for Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals to be played in Pittsburgh against the Penguins due to concerns over low TV ratings. The Lightning reportedly hosted a well-attended party for Game 5 on Sunday but were forced to nix Thursday’s planned event, and the NHL told Deadspin that the team was only allowed to host one official event per series.
Fuckin bush league. All the leagues are greasy like that though, lets not act like the NFL wouldn't do that if they had to.
the NFL does do the same thing stories every year about how the NFL threatens to sue places that have SB parties
Rust scored in the first TB tied it in the second 30 seconds later, Rust scores again, after a funny bounce got away from Vasilevsky, who was trying to freeze it
Penguins mishandled that Hedman got a penalty Penguins could've taken advantage of the delayed call instead a long, no chance shot thrown at net, Vasilevsky saves and holds
Rust with four goals during the regular season, 5 in the playoffs On the intermission, guy claims Sullivan places a lot of trust in his younger players, using Rust and Sheary as examples. He must not have been paying attention. Sheary was a healthy scratch two games in a row this series. Not much faith there. Top offensive players on each team not getting involved in the goals. Stamkos, Johnson, Kucherov, Crosby, Kessel, Hornqvist, Letang...
Rust had a breakaway to go for the hat trick and was held from behind by Coburn. No call. The refs then blew the whistle to stop play a few seconds later with no explanation given by anyone.
This is all I need, is to listen to the fucking Penguins bandwagoners raging about how good a team they are.
Maatta on the ice for the final minute. Same guy that was a healthy scratch for multiple games until Daley went down (Sullivan chose Schultz over him. Schultz!). PIT thinner defensively than maybe any playoff team. Washington was better than either of these teams. A disgrace that the Caps still can't make a Cup Finals in the Ovechkin Era.
I'd like to extend a special fuck you to the Lightning for ending the Isles cup run but continuing the Penguins' by choking away the ECF. May you burn in hell.
3 day break before Game 1 on Monday. Of the top 5 teams, only one played in the East (Washington). However, I find it too difficult to pick the Sharks in the playoffs, despite the fact that they're the better team, PIT has a rookie goaltender, and PIT is very thin defensively. Penguins in 7
