Sometimes teams just click at the right time and at the right place. That was the Pens this year. Sucks to see, but there is no denying it.
It's amazing what a coching change can do. They looked dead in the water under Smith, Sullivan took over and they exploded. I don't think Tampa will win. Pens look dominant.
My son is an LA dude and Kings fan, and I thought we had a real shot at a Kings v Isles cup. Instead we may end up against each other with my most hated team, the Pens, vs his, the Sharks. So we will still be against one another.
How disappointing it would be for Blues fans to beat the Blackhawks and Stars but lose to the Sharks. Sharks could be up 3-0 with how they played in game 1.
I'd call it equally disappointing for Sharks fans to get past LA and not have to face Chicago but lose to the Blues. Both franchises are snake-bitten, I'll be rooting for the western finalist to win the SC.
The Blues beating the defending champions and the top team in the West, only to lose to a third place Pacific team, is what I mean would be disappointing. Yes, the Sharks beat the Kings, but comparatively just making the WCF would seem like a success, whereas the Blues losing the WCF to the Sharks after who they beat to get there would have to be a real shock and disappointment.
Honestly I think the Preds were a tougher out than the Stars because of the goaltending and defense, but that's my opinion. SJ was in the Conference finals a few years back and lost to Chicago, they are actually the more experienced group here. Should be a fun finish to the series.
Tampa Bay ties the series 2-2 with a 4-3 win. Pens ended the game scoring 3 straight goals and replacing Murray with Fleury. It's now a best of 3. Pens still have the edge, but atleast the Bolts have life.
Apparently Hitch just named Jake Allen the starter for next game. Wow. It should be Elliot til the end imo.
Agreed. Hope it works for the Blues sake, but Elliot is not the problem. Kind of ridiculous to not score in 7 straight periods and your solution is to bench your top goalie.
These playoffs have been extreme, just when you think a team is going to gain momentum at home and take control of the series, they get whipped. I'm watching this Shark and Blues game and I can't figure out who is going to win this series.
Yeah, was gonna just post something like that. Tampa and STL made statements. I guess Jake Allen next game?
What's good for the goose is good for the gander? Sullivan names Fleury the Game 5 starter. For the Blues, no word yet for Monday's game.
My friend is headed to the game. Paid $154 for a ticket. Not bad for a Game 5 ECF game. I remember paying that for an upper level regular season game at MSG. Haha.
Daley OUT for the season. That could be a big injury for the Pens. I think the O can still win this series, but might make winning the SCF difficult.
