Chicago is a great team but they are not a dynasty. Bettman is a fucking idiot for saying that.

Good for Richards...He is a good dude, he just looked so slow out there for us and obviously he cannot be 1C out there as he was...But on this team he was great.

Bums me out so much to see another team that lost in heartbreaking fashion last year win it the following year.

    We suffer another year.

But I am happy for Chicago Blackhawks, they are truly deserving and are this generation's great team. One I can get behind.

There wasn't enough Bettman booing there IMO.

Also sucks how he's gonna put an expansion team in fucking Las Vegas over somewhere like Quebec City. At least in Quebec City they will watch the games after the first month, the games in Las Vegas will be as under attended as they are in Arizona. Total bullcrap by Bettman as usual.

Tyler Johnson played the finals with a broken wrist.

Ben Bishop tore his groin in Game 2 of the finals.

Who knows the severity of Kucherov hitting that post and missing Game 5 and being so tentative in Game 6

These are in no way excuses, but my question is, how did all the Blackhawks stay healthy after that physical series with Anaheim?

The difference between the Hawks and Bolts is that Chicago KNEW they would score, while Tampa didn't know if they could score ENOUGH. Game 1 epitomized this entire series.

That second goal was a beauty. No look pass, tape to tape, one timer.

    Perfect execution.

Happy when original 6 teams win the Cup. Other than the Rangers :D

Of course they are a dynasty. What are you holding against them, that they haven't repeated as champs? Three cups, five western conference finals appearances...if that's not a modern dynasty what is?

It's an insult to every actual dynasty from the past.

    This.

No one is calling them the Canadiens.

But for today's day and age, what they've put together over the past 6 years?

    Yeah, that's a dynasty.

So 2 in a row is better than 3 in 6 years?

Were the 91-92 Penquins a "dynasty"? Took them 17 years to win another Cup.

Were the 97-98 Red Wings a "dynasty"? Took them another 4 years to win another Cup.

The 74-75 Flyers? They still haven't won another Cup.

    It's a silly criteria.

The Islanders of the 80's were a dynasty
The Oilers of the 80's were a dynasty.

The Blackhawks are a great team. But they are not a dynasty because the dumbass commish says so.

Losing to Tampa was awful, but losing to the Kings was worse. Nothing stings like losing at the Championship series, I'd rather lose in the second round

You are talking about a concept that cannot exist anymore, not with the way the league is structured.

    That was 25-35 years ago.

By your definition, there will never be another dynasty.

By today's standards, 3 Cups in 6 years is a dynasty.

    You hate everyone, don't you?

Logic requires broad arguments; the more your argument depends on specific and narrow criteria the less logical it is. The broad argument of multiple titles over a short period of time is inherently more logical than the specific and narrow argument of repeating. Not because I say so but because the existing and accepted rules of logic require it. You are certainly welcome to be illogical, I just always find it strange when people are so proud to be illogical.

They aren't a dynasty BECAUSE Bettman says so, Bettman says they are a dynasty because their success says so. Huge, gaping difference between the two that I am completely dumbfounded how anyone could confuse the difference.

I think the Blackhawks are this generation's dynasty or close to it.

You win 3 championships in a close span with the same core guys then that is a dynasty. They also have not been bad in the other years where they didnt win.

We are in a salary cap era so getting a champion team for 3-4 years in a row is like impossible now.

    agreed

    it's a different age

you can't expect teams to win three straight Cups or whatever

consistently getting to the SCF Finals and picking up a few within a 5 year span counts

The Blackhawks were one deflection away in overtime last year from making the finals over the Kings. They most definitely would have beaten the Rangers. As much as I don't like it, they are a dynasty. What's scary is Toews isn't even 30 and could easily get 2 more before he does turn 30.

How strange, that last two goal lead was the first two goal lead of the entire series for either team.

it was a very close series and yet no games went to OT

a team led by more than 1 goal for only a few minutes (end of Game 6)
