I am noticing that the Blackhawks are really lacking depth at defense.

They are literally asking too much of Duncan Keith and Seabrook.

Timonen apparently is playing the Blackhawks, never even noticed him play. Same thing with his other pairing guy...I am sure Blackhawks will make a series of this and it may go long but if Kesler can win his match up over Toews then it will be difficult.

He's out for the season. I heard his ankle or bone came off in a nasty injury

Keith is averaging roughly 30 minutes per game in the playoffs

He's going to wear down, assuming he's human.

Keith and Seabrook 1-2 is as good as it gets on defense, but you do need depth.

Shaw with a header for the gamewinner

waved off, because you apparently are not allowed to play soccer

The Ducks continue to impress me. It really could be Bruce Boudreau's year. Still, no way I am counting out the Blackhawks yet.

Anaheim up 4-2 with under 2 to play

Toews twice in quick succession to force OT

but right at the start of OT, Anaheim gets a 2 on 1 (I think), shot is saved but Crawford allowed the juicy rebound to end all juicy rebounds

    Anaheim takes the series lead

Rebound reminiscent of last year's SCF with Lundqvist...I want to see the same sort of comeback fight from the Rangers against Tampa

The Ducks had a sweet passing goal, just like the Lightning did the night before, where the goalie had no chance. That is what I wanted the Caps to do, but they just could not pull that skilled goal off past Lundqvist. Great Ducks OT win, especially after blowing the lead at the end. Tonight the Lightning have a chance to move on, tomorrow the Ducks do too. I feel both the Rangers and Blackhawks could force a Game 7, but I wouldn't be shocked either way. Both have been great series.

    of course they could!

in both series, the games are/have been pretty much coin flips

series prices now have TB and Anaheim both about -290 to win, reflecting the coin flip

if there were no vig, a two leg/team parlay at even odds would pay +300. Rangers and Blackhawks need to hit a two leg parlay.

Can you explain hockey spreads to me? I'm not being facetious I don't get them at all.

    not spreads

hockey and baseball go by moneylines. Simply which team wins the game.

An even matchup would be -110/-110, meaning you risk 11 to win 10.

You would have to assume the Blackhawks can win Game 6 at home and take this to a Game 7, but I am not sure. The NHL surely wants a Game 7, but we will see.

leagues always want Game 7s and they don't happen in most series

people always claim the NBA will rig series to go 7 but the vast majority don't and there are a lot of 4 or 5 game series

    same goes for the NHL

I have a gut feeling the Ducks finish it tonight. I don't know why. Good news for Chicago fans, as I am wrong most of the time. :D
