Meh. Playoff meltdowns are normal for the Blues. I know many of their fans out here aren't even suprised by this. It's almost like they've been expecting it to happen.
Without a doubt. It's one thing to lose to the Kings and Blackhawks for three years, it's another to lose to the Wild after that.
Wild were a pretty good team this year. I thought winner of the West would either be the winner of MIN/STL or Anaheim. Bad luck for St. Louis to draw Minnesota.
The Wild came into the playoffs hot, but you have to be able to beat good teams in the playoffs. The Kings and Blackhawks have been elite the last three years, that can't fall on the coach if they simply weren't as good as Stanley Cup winning teams. But when you lose to a team that, at best, is merely as good as you, that's got to blow back to the coach for not getting his team to be better. Whether it's the absolute truth or not I don't know, but it's a fair direction to point the finger in.
Wild and Blackhawks had a pretty good series last time I'm expecting a close one, 6 or 7 games. Still deciding on who I think will win it. I'd also really really love to see a Rangers vs Islanders series.
I want an Isles/Rags series just so that way the rivalry gets white hot again. Its been dead for a long time, it kind of got going again this season, but a log and brutal playoff series will get the hate back to the levels it was at in the 1980's. I want that. i want the hate. Bring on the hate.
Haven't posted on here much, or in a long time, but that Calgary Vancouver series was fantastic. Bad blood, good hockey. Go Flames, bring on the Ducks! Haven't won in Anaheim in something like their last 20 games but nothing this Flames team has done this year has made sense so I'm not counting them out. This season has been awesome, we were supposed to be in the McDavid sweepstakes and here we are in the second round!!
Detroit/TB Game 7 Detroit is without two defensemen. http://espn.go.com/nhl/player/_/id/2057/marek-zidlicky News: Zidlicky suffered an apparent concussion in Monday's Game 6 against the Lightning and will miss Wednesday's Game 7, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports. (Wed Apr 29) Spin: With Niklas Kronwall also out, the Red Wings' blue line is suddenly paper thin in depth. If Detroit gets to the next round, Zidlicky may be available, but it's going to be a stiff test in Tampa on Wednesday without two of its better defensemen. Zidlicky and Kronwall will be replaced by Jakub Kindl and Alexei Marchenko.
Good game and series. The Lightning will give Montreal a tough fight. In fact, I think I will take Tampa Bay.
Round 2 Predictions: Capitals over the Rangers in 7. I predicted the Rangers to go to the Stanley Cup, but I won't go against my team. It will be tough though. Lightning over Canadiens in 6. Could go either way but I like TB. Blackhawks over the Wild in 7. The Wild impressed me Round 1. They are good and could steal this series. Ducks over the Flames in 6. Time for Boudreau to finally get to a conference final. Maybe even further!
