ive actually found the post Carell episodes funny. nobody can replace him its as simple as that but its funny to explore the other characters more.

ferells pseudo imposing speech for "office ideas" was hilarious to me.

Much better episode tonight than last week. There were rumors on twitter all day about Creed becoming temporary boss, but I thought it was BS. This should deliver at least a few great scenes in the beginning of next week's finale.

I've been catching up this week on season 7. Some of the shorts are excellent (pam and jim screwing with dwight and his daycare place, the bit about how stanley doesn't notice anything, etc.).

So much better with Farrell gone. He should stick to making shitty movies.

James Spader is replacing Kathy Bates as Sabre CEO.

The Office (TV Show) ending after this season

The Office is ending after this season. It will be 9 total including the 6 episode 1st season and the partial 4th season cut short because of the writers strike.

    http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/08/21/the-office-season-9/

I think it will be impossible to capture the season 2/season 3 feel and the season 4 awkwardness. Nothing will ever top the agony of watching Scott's Tots. Thought parts of the last season were good. The Office is definitely not consistently funny anymore and not the best comedy on NBC Thursday nights. I'm glad the writers can plan for the end, hopefully get Michael Scott back one more time. Also wonder if they end acknowledging that this was supposed a documentary about an office.

Also NBC comedy is in trouble. Office ending, 30 Rock ending. Last I heard Parks and Rec is in trouble too and Community has been sent to fall apart in the Friday night grave.

I don't know if anyone has been watching the show as it has been going through its slow demise, but I think the hour-long show tonight was the best episode of The Office in years. Two episodes to go, and that's it.

^^ I've been watching but haven't posted about it.

This was a really great episode and pulled on all the emotional strings that have developed over the 9 years of the show.

Before the finale episode on May 16th, there is an hour long retrospective from NBC celebrating the office so don't forget that too!

On the bright side if you haven't watched the British original it's even better than the NBC version. It's only two seasons but it's hysterical and Ricky Gervais is amazing in the lead.

Shortness always helps comedies. Only a few comedies stay consistently funny over a long run on the networks.

Also, obviously, hope Michael Scott comes back for one last scene

It seems pretty definite that that is not going to happen.

    http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsideth...is-still-not-in-the-office-series-finale.html

It appears that the ending will be similar in spirit to the ending of the British show, and will be at least an hour.

I saw an interview with Mindy Kayling (kelly) and with Angela and Erin and all of them acted coy when asked about Michael Scotty. Angela/Erin asked if Greg Daniels was around them then avoided the question. Mindy avoided the question saying she can't say one way or the other. I'm probably reading too much into it.

And yeah if you read the episode description for the finale, http://www.officetally.com/the-office-finale, it reveals the setting and a major plot for the finale.

The Office was so great with Michael Scott. Then completely terrible last season, now this season has been odd with Jim/Pam issues that just randomly end, but at least tonight was good. You could feel the emotions from the cast, just like Michael's last few episodes.

Yeah I would say seasons 1-5 are great. Season 6 is funny but steep drop off with Sabre. Season 7 picks up with the farewell tour, Will Ferrell isn't funny. Season 8 struggles trying to make Andy into Michael, has it's moments but lots of lows. Season 9, this one, I will have to rewatch to judge. Season 4 got hit with the writer's strike or it seems like it was on pace to top seasons 2/3 the ultimate high of the show in my opinion.

To me Season 3 is the best, followed by Season 5, but Season 4 has two of my favorites: Dinner Party and Night Out. Classics.

I also really love that Steve Carrell showed up to the wrap party in Scranton. Really cool. I wish I was there now.

We should post some clips of our favorite moments.

    My favorte Office moment ever:

    ^^ I like your thinking.

Also the deposition in season 4 is great as from my clip.

Season 2 is one of the best combos of comedy/drama I can think of on TV.
