That's the dumbest thing I've ever read. You don't HAVE to be great at PLAYING football to know what you're talking about when analyzing it. You must be about 7 years old.
I think the thing about Salisbury that bothers everyone so much isn't the fact that he clearly hates the Jets, it's that he doesn't know what he's talking about. There are plenty of sports broadcasters that don't think highly of the Jets but typically you will get an insightful opinion as to why. With Sean Salisbury regardless of the team he doesn't say anything very insightful at all.
I don't happen to think that Salisbury is a complete moron, or that he knows nothing about football, but that half the time he doesn't do any research at all, just watches the highlights, and the other half of the time he is playing the averages so he can look good later. He said the thing about receivers because he knows how good Cotch and Coles are and later in the season he can point back and say, 'See, I told you the receivers would make a difference, I'm such a smart chubby dude."
"No need to panic. We'll nip. We'll tuck. We'll go. We'll crunch. We'll Jew. We'll do it all and they nickel and dimed them and Peyton made the play when it mattered." - Sean Salisbury
