How confident are you that the offensive line, as currently constructed, can protect Rodgers?

A superior signal caller like Rodgers can mask a lot of deficiencies on the line and also recognize what the failures are much better than any QB the Jets have had in the past. Plus, he is definitely not afraid to communicate openly with them about what they need to fix. That shit really matters.

I think the line was probably not as bad as it looked last year and probably not as bad as it has looked so far this preseason, but they can definitely use some upgrades.

But Rodgers went a bit further than that. He said he wasn't concerned because he doesn't concern himself with things over which he has limited control.

Which is not the same as saying the OL is just fine.

I starting to think that the little get together that Rodgers wanted to have with Becton as shown on Hard Knocks was to tell him that playing RT would be the best move for the team.

As to why they've waited this long to get him reps at RT, I'm guessing they wanted to get him back on the field for the first time in 2 years playing a position he was comfortable with. The thought is to build up his confidence in his knee before moving him to RT. That and I truly don't think Brown will be ready to open the season. At least that's my best guess.

Only of 3rd and 24 draw plays are a result.

Would be pretty pathetic on JD's end if the backup plan to the Orlando Brown miss in FA was Duane Brown... who won't be ready for week 1.

Maybe Brown will be ready but at this point I would think he would be practicing with the team. I think I read that he only gave up 1 sack last year but from what I remember he wasn't that good. The shoulders probably didn't help but age could also be a factor. I think he's the oldest offensive lineman in the league.

You're correct. However, he keeps saying things like " at some point, we'll have to develop some continuity/figure out who those 5 are" which I hear as, we're not at the point *yet* where we should be concerned.

He ended the presser yesterday with a question that asked, "I just want to go back to the "low concern" with the OL. Is that because it's still August or is that because you've been in the league a long time and maybe you've seen it take some time in that experience?"

To which he answered, "Both. Good question. Uhh yeah, it's August 16th, so we've got some time. Also, it's coming up. Again, I don't get concerned heavily about things that I don't have a huge role in yet. Now that might change, at some point I might say, "hey, I need the 5 who are going to be in there to be in there with me for a solid week but I don't think we're at that point yet because I don't think there's 5 guys that have earned those spots. And also, AVT hasn't practiced, Laken missed today, DB's not back yet so I'm gonna have some patience with that and also try and encourage and inspire those guys who are fighting for jobs to keep showing out every day because every day somebody notches up and somebody goes down and that's the beauty of training camp and position battles."

Maybe he's just saying the things we (fans/media) all want to hear but it genuinely feels like he's not concerned about it yet.

If the only two tackles who aren't awful are Brown and Becton, there won't be any continuity. I give it a month before one of them either plays terribly or gets hurt again.

Not what I felt like seeing first thing this morning. It made the convenience store coffee taste more burnt. Wait, it was probably stomach acid.

Granted there were injuries, but we do have injury prone guys. Every single tackle we have on the roster is coming off season ending injury. Saleh can say whatever he wants, but we have bad players at tackle spot and our best talented tackles are not yet ready to play with 1s. Duane (who has talent but is old and may be washed) is MIA, and Becton is just now gaining confidence. No wonder Rodgers is saying there are job openings at the OLine.

Still baffled JD took McDonald 1st round when jets had tons of decent edge rushers and crap for OL!

Tell who you would have taken for OL over what could be a generational edge rusher. I'm all ears.

Sometimes, but usually I just turn them over and thumb through the sports section. I haven't seen Hard Knocks. That was probably the most boring paragraph I've ever typed in my life. No doubt just as boring to read. o_O

Those were back ups, but Von Miller is already salivating. Most likely result opening day: pain. The O-Line could derail what could be - and I say could be - a big season. Water under the bridge - sorta? - but how can anyone still not be pissed that Joe Douglas flipped those picks with GB. The guy they took would have been there two picks later and we let Belicheat fck us by trading that pick to the Steelers who took the O-Lineman we needed. Old news, just beat the Bills week one at The New Dump. Win or lose there will be pain.

It's no wonder that Aarod is making overtures to Bahktiari on IG.
