I'd sign a capable veteran QB and let he and Geno battle for the starting job (or instead of signing a veteran, make a reasonable trade for a guy, I wouldn't give up anything more than a 4th though). I think the Jets have a lot of cap room, but I'd cut Santonio and get even more. There should be one or two quality receivers out there in the FA market. Let Kerley stay in the slot and Hill be the 4th. The draft is where I'd upgrade at TE, RB and O-line. There are some good TE's in this draft. Quality RB's can be found after the first round.
I basically agree with this, except that I still think Geno can be a building block for the offense, and unless the injuries become a chronic thing, Kerley will be too. Also, probably Ivory and maybe Cumberland. I think they may be able to get a few more serviceable years out of Mangold. I doubt if that's the case with Brick, however. I think they'll need to find his replacement sooner rather than later. Ivory's the type of runner that's gonna take a lot of hits. I think they definitely need to look for another RB to come in and compete unless they plan on bringing Goodson back and are happy with Powell. I'd draft one somewhere in the 4th-6th rounds and let him compete with the other 3 and let the chips fall where they may. Howard's probably been their most consistent OL this year, but that isn't saying a lot. Unless his head is swollen and he asks for a king's ransom, I'd re-sign him, but if the BPA in a middle round is a RT, there's no one else there they like, and they can't trade down, I'd take him and let the two of them compete for the starting job.
Thank you Thanks for your keen observation of the fact that I did post to the wrong subject. Last time I checked, this is a message board. I will post whatever hangups I feel like expressing. Why, the Jets organiztion are full of people with hangups, thus no talent on offense or special teams. I appreciate your monitoring and enforcement of the posting rules.
