I'll reserve my judgement on the offense until at least the 3rd pre season game. That will give me an idea of how the offense will perform during the season.
I understand it was a preseason game,, YES I get that, but not one first down.. And please correct me,, Did the first unit get the ball past the 50 yard line. HELL did they make to the 45 yard line. All I saw was the ball being snapped and Mark going down. Sure hope they fix this before the Giants game. Go Jets
Easy or you surely be attacked and ridiculed and be called out as a fan of this team. Its only a pre-season game....................... P.S I saw the same thing...................NOTHING on the offense.
That's wrong. The got a first down. I remember Sanchez scrambling for one in Cincy territory. That's also wrong. Brought the ball to the Cincy 41. Started at their own 20. 2 drives for the first team. One 3 and out, the other a drive to the Cincy 41 at its farthest point. Again, I'm more worried about the TE blocking than the results of the offense who other posters are making seem went 3 and out every single time this game.
The first half of the year is gonna be slow offensively. With a new system being put in, it always takes time. Next year we'll all be saying "Well, they have a full season in under the new offensive system...". I hope they can get it together enough by midseason so that they are competitive, but it's always tough sledding at first with any new system. It takes time.
Yeah. Because just like in past years, you can tell everything after the first preseason game. Just like we could tell in 2009 and 2010 after the first preseason games that this team was headed for long playoff runs. Who did the Jets play in the first preseason games in '09 and '10 again? Can anybody remember? And if you can, can you remember whether the Jets looked good or not?
Not so sure about the 2009 or 2010,,, But I do remember a long time ago,, the Jets went 4-0 in preseason and 1-15 in the reg season. Also think BP became our couch. Go Jets.
You realize there is no such thing as a new system and the offensive formations and routes are 99% the same around the league?
You realize for decades these terms have been tossed around the NFL?: "Learning a new system" "Adjusting to a new system" "Off to a slow start due to a new system" Might be for a reason. Not being a dick, but that's an excuse thrown around all the time. There is certainly some validity to it. I've said in previous posts that I really hope we don't hear that this year because ever since Sparano was hired we've heard about a simplified, easier system than Shotty's. If his system, especially running, is simpler, I just want to see the O-line blow people up. I just don't think they, or the backs, have the talent to do that. Hopefully I'm wrong.
