Now Carolina is talking to Cam Newton's camp LOL!! What a fuckin mess they are in now. Going back to their ex girlfriend type desperate
Over the summer there were polls as far whether the Jets should move on or keep Sam, and a lot of people wanted to keep Sam. The jury is out now: the people who wanted to keep Sam were wrong. Pointing at the rookie to say he sucks too is not going to change that. I would prefer to have Mike White right now over Sam even if we didn't draft a QB. Or even Josh Johnson. Heck, even Flacco outperformed Sam last year in the same system, and Sam took a step back from there. It's OK to admit people were wrong about Sam, because at this point whether they admit or not, it's just a fact. Whether we made the right decision to get Zach is a different question. A question that may not be answered this season. Sam got 3.5 years to answer this question, we ma need to wait on Zach a little while longer before we know for sure. With Sam though - we already have the definitive answer.
How many people questioned that post in this thread? It was simply a question of why is Zach still starting? Last season Sam was the lowest rated starting QB in the league, even behind rookies. After 6 games Wilson was the lowest rated starting QB in the league, even behind other rookies. In fact, I'm not sure we've ever had a QB rated 63 after 6 starts that kept his job - rookie or otherwise. (Okay maybe Rick Mirror). So injury or not, we should have been benching Zach until he was ready. After the bye week and his performance in NE it should have been an automatic benching. This is what Jet fans struggle to understand. He should have been pulled before the injury and sat a few games. Especially because he was a rookie.
I wasn't comparing him to Sam. I was equating the notion that Carolina wanted to bench Sam for playing poorly, while we weren't considering the notion of benching Zach, even though he was playing significantly worse.
Well, I want to be the first to say I wanted to keep Sammy. Yes I did. I supported keeping Sammy and trading the number 2 pick for a kings ransom. And honestly, today I still don't think I'm wrong? Now, maybe I will ultimately be proven wrong, but I'm not right now. We don't know what a Jets team that traded the number 2 pick would look like. The only thing we know is Sammy would still be on the team. But Sammy, for how bad he's been in Carolina is still better than Zach at least so far. And I'm not so sure Sammy will not ultimately still become a franchise QB? This is his first year in Carolina and he hasn't had a decent run game to lean on. If Carolina management can continue to build around Sammy I'm not convinced he'll still be terrible.....
If they knew what they could possibly have had in Mike White we could have traded out of the #2 spot for a billion more picks. @ouchy would have been delighted
Sam clearly won the trade himself, as he has cashed in on $18 million guaranteed next year with the 5th year option the Panthers picked up. What a baller move as he continued to struggle and bring his team down this season.
in fairness the Cowboys didnt know either. they didnt even add him to their practice squad. Maybe he plays like shit during practice?
