Their raging against Darnold in Carolina after a 3 INT game. Yet his QBR is still 9 points higher than Wilson.
I remember the scouting reports on Darnold “throws well when in the run or bootleg”, He struggled that with the Jets. Four years later Darnold continues to struggle on the run throwing two costly interceptions on bootleg to his left.
I think you'll see a different ZW with LeFleur up in the booth. Might still be playing HeroBall, but we'll soon find out if Zach's short game has improved with the quality of the playcalls.
COOL! We finally did something right, and we still suck lol. Im very glad hes not doing well because i wouldnt be able to handle it if he succeeded. Looks like all the hype about Mayfield and Darnold was for nothing because neither turned out to be special.
And after 4 years at the helm and now with a better all around team the 9 points don't mean diddly squat
The Panthers are going to be hamstrung for at least a couple years when you consider how much they're paying Sam next year and the picks they gave up to get him. We're a bad team but at least we're young and inexpensive with tons of draft capital.
They traded 2 draft picks for him (it was it 3?) and he's been in the league for over 3 years. How can you compare the 2?
Not at all. I just can't take much pleasure in winning the trade when our team is still so dysfunctional and without a proven starter at qb. Winning the trade is a tear drop in a seastorm.
True and i do have more hope for our team this year than i did last year. But i can't take much joy in winning the trade
Well I am definitely happy we were able to move a lousy QB for 3 draft picks, including a 2 and a 4 next year. It's a ton better than keeping him and having him suck again this year and then letting him walk for nothing.
It seems a bit better. I like zach more, but im not going to shout to the hills about winning a trade when our team is dog shit. At this point it looks like we got the better of the deal. So what? It hasn't translated to anything. Zach hasnt even been able to stay on the field. We'll see what happens, but so far this season not much has.
The trade wasn't about Zach. It was about pulling the plug on a failed Darnold before we had to commit to his option. They made the right call. And since the second round and fourth round picks haven't even happened yet, you can't expect instant improvement from the trade. Bit as of right now I can almost guarantee you that Carolina would like a do over.
I just have to wonder, did the Jets ruin Darnold? Or was he just not ever going to live up to his hype no matter where he went?
He's played half a season with Carolina and he still sucks. I don't think the Jets ruined him. He's just not very good.
It's about both. Yes, darnold is failing now so it seems very well we got rid of him. That said if we continue to fail as a franchise, what victory is it? If zach or white doesn't succeed what difference will winning this trade make? Just another pathetic moral victory for our loser franchise.
