Welp, this sucks. Amare was fun while he last this year. I think he has two more years on the book after this one

i'm not a knicks fan, but they remind me of the George Allen / over-the-hill redskins of the 70's. start out fast, but wear down as the season goes on and the games take their toll on older bodies. in the playoffs, usually they were quickly out if they even made it at all. one year, they managed to make it to the super bowl before the wheels fell off. kind of like rex ryan's teams- all defense, hold-the-fort offense. just too lopsided to sustain being a top team consistently.

DID ANYONE ELSE JUST SEE NOVAK BLOCK AL JEFFERSON!? It was kind of by default since Jefferson was fumbling the ball but Novak stopped him hahaha

The Knicks have short window, I believe this year and next year then almost all their slaries come off the books.

doesn't it seem like most western conference teams are dumping vets and going with young players/ rebuilds? in a short time frame, the west will again have most of top teams while eastern teams decay and just begin starting rebuilds.

The west has had the better teams ever since the Jordan Bulls.

    Think about player distribution though:

Melo, Lebron, Wade are in the East. The 3 established players. You have Kyrie, Horford, Smith, etc.
CP3, Kobe, Durant, Westbrook, Parker, Harden are all established in the West. Davis, Curry, M. Gasol, Dirk all remain in the West. Throw in the wildcard Dwight.

To continue the above, I forgot about Paul George I guess. Besides that, the very talented seem to be in the West besides Lebron/Wade/Melo

Novak plays infinitely better without Amare it seems. No reason why. Also Woodson seems to be running a ton more sets for him tonight than before.

So JR hit two really deep threes. So he takes one 5 feet out and bricks it badly. Prig gets the rebound in the corner near the Knicks bench, and since he's falling out throws the ball up in the air to save it. JR snags it between two Jazz players between the 3 point line and midcourt. He then dribbles into the paint and does a double clutch dunk. Sums up tonight for the Jazz

Also more Prigioni please. Give him one big and 3 shooters and let him go to work with the bench

And yeah, JR was immediately benched after the dunk. Not sure if ti was for showing up the Jazz (which Woodson doesn't like) or was to throw out all the subs since it was an official timeout

Also I personally think our bench is one of the best in the league at reactions

To be honest Amare being out sucks for his health and I feel for the guy. But for the team it might be better for the post season

Yep, and I think they've been clearly the better conference going back at least seven years.

The East sometimes wins titles (Heat twice, Celtics once, Pistons once), but top to bottom it isn't even close most seasons.

If Martin can provide defense and a middle presence, this could end up being a positive.

I love Amare...I like Amare the person too...a lot. With that said, as good as his offense has been..he is like a one trick pony going to the basket in a wild frenzy that leads to baskets... his shots being blocked shots..and turnovers. He will be missed on some nights but come playoff time...20-25 minutes from Martin will do the trick. Getting Martin after 9 months of every team rejecting him is as perfect a set up as one could ask for.

If he has what it looks like has in the tank...he makes this team a better PLAYOFF team than Amare would.

Many Im sure will disagree with that but Amare, T.C. and Carmelo are not as good together as Martin, T.C. and Carmelo when you need stops.

I really believe this will end up making this team a better playoff team.

Knicks need Miami and OKC to win today over IND and BOS.

And not sure if Amare out helps us. We lose a good scoring option but Martin is obviously defensively much better.

With Amare out Melo will be in the 4 on offense regardless if Martin is out there allowing him to take the court in his spot 40+ for Melo night? Only in my dreams

Also Martins Toughness fits TC so much better then AS so I think we will be good hopefully KC can pass and instill some better defense in our players

Martin gives us more length, something we desperately need if we want better than a snowball's chance in hell at beating Miami in the playoffs
