Look at everyone else on the team: Shump:1-7 Felton:6-16 Amare: 5-16 Kidd:0-2 Nobody had it. Chandler was 3/5 but he's not a threat offensively. Kurt Thomas was 1/2 but come on. Steve Novak was 1/2 but he can't create.
Thunder won the game by having the second best player in the league. I thought KD wasn't having a good game, but 34 points, 8 boards, and 6 assists. Thunder also had 29 free throws to our 14. KD had 15 total. Felton+Amare went 11/32 from the field. Oh well, it was fun. We saw better defense from the team at spurts, and KMART could be very valuable to us. Did a very good job
Mike Woodson! Really dude? That's the play they come up with? An iso fade away with time to run a play. So stupid
The play was an Iso, what a majority of the teams run late in games. JR decided to make a tough shot tougher like he always does. I don't really have a problem with it. Teams rarely draw up plays for buzzer beaters unless it's to get a 3. Only Doc and Pop I think do it consistently (drawing up plays for buzzer beaters). Most other teams just go for the ISO to avoid a mishap in execution. With the way Felton was handling the ball, Novak and Kidd can't drive, and Amare's lack of ball skills on the floor, ISO was the safest bet. The shot JR took out of the ISO was terrible, but it's JR. So far, we beat the teams we are supposed to, and lost to the teams we are supposed to in competitive fashion. Let's keep this rolling
I disagree with you my friend. Everyone knew it was gonna go to JR. Woodson should have drawn an actual play. It was stupid imo.
So we are the 2 seed curently by % points NYK:37-22 IND:38-23 NYK remaining schedule: vs Utah @ Golden State @ Denver @Portland @Los Angeles @Utah vs Orlando @ Toronto vs Toronto @ Boston vs Memphis vs Charlotte vs Boston @ Miami @Atlanta vs Milwaukee @ Oklahoma City vs Washington @ Chicago @ Cleveland vs Indiana @ Charlotte vs Atlanta 13 road games vs 10 homes games. We are 3 games up on BK and 4.5 up on BOS. In division records (tiebreaker) NYK is 6-6 BK is 9-3 BOS is 6-5 We have 4 games left in division to make up 3 games back on BK. That means most likely, unless BK goes cold, we aren't getting that tiebreaker meaning we need to win the division outright. Let's say we go 13-10. That puts us at 50-32. BK would need to go 15-6 to tie us at 50-32. BOS would need to go 17-5 to tie us at 50-32. BK has games @ATL, vs ATL, @LAC, @DEN, vs CHI, @BOS, @IND that could be considered tossups and worse for them. They also go on an 8 game road trip. BOS has games vs ATL, @OKC, vs MIA, @MEM, vs NYK, vs ATL, @ NYK, vs BK, @ MIA, vs IND that could be considered tossups or worse for them.
Everyone knew it yet they couldn't get Sefolosha or Durant on JR, we got JR on Westbrook. We got JR on Westbrook, the thing was (Woodson said this in postgame) he wanted JR to drive to the hoop with Westbrook on him, not settle for a jumper. This would have been the perfect time to do his patented dribble, step back fadeaway pull jumper from midrange.
I don't know why they pretty much forgot Stat existed in the clutch. Down 1 point with 30 seconds left and you take a rushed 3 pointer??? Hell no. Pound it in low to Stats in the paint. WTF kind of decision was that. 2 forced iso jumpers in a row? Move the damn ball around instead of running down the clock and heaving a desperation shot.
no. close losses to good teams in no way equates to a quality of play that will translate over the long haul against teams not as good. the Jets almost beat the Pats this season, but it wasn't a quality loss. it was a loss indicative of their overall ability -- not good enough to win games. a loss is a loss, there is no good quality to it.
Ehh. Moral loss that we hung in there without Melo, but I don't think you can have quality loss. You can be impressed/encouraged by things in a loss (KMART), but I don't think you can mark things down as a quality loss. Worse news: Amare has sore knees, yep both, and is questionable for tonight. I guess the minutes limit wasn't some joke, Woodson was really trying. Melo also still is questionable.
The first one I liked. We played the two for one perfectly. We got an open 3 pointer to someone who was nailing open shots. It made sure we didn't have to foul if we didn't score and guaranteed we were getting the ball back so the game didn't end in Durant's hands. The last ISO, I see what Woodson was going for, but I blame JR more than Woodson. JR should have driven the ball or at least tried to create something.
NY_KnicksPR @NY_KnicksPR Forward Amar'e Stoudemire is scheduled to have a right knee debridement this coming week. He is expected to miss approximately six weeks.
Goodness I just heard about Amar'e. He's been playing so well, that I thought dude was finally healthy. Unbelievable!
