Gotta admit, the Jets have the most loyal fanbase. No team in recent memory has shit so hard on their own fans, yet we still show up every game...many thinking we got a shot! How many fans get fooled by this franchise every season? This was the first year I tried not to buy into the hype...but I did. Rug pulled AGAIN!!!
Vilma. I feel your pain. I might, however, go with Vrabel instead. As in right now. And f that offends Mr Rodgers, tough shit.
None of the above actually lol. Big meeting today in a few so I couldn’t overdo any sort of adult beverages. No, I don’t think we should bring Rex back but the Jets need to do something pretty splashy in order to fix this clusterfuck they have. If Rodgers moves on, they have some pieces to work with. Lots of holes, but I don’t see this situation as unappealing as some others have been roster wise over the past 15 years.
They were talking about Vraebel on FAN this morning, and Boomer or Gio was saying his close relationship with Belichik would probably prevent him from taking the Jet job. That Beli roasts Woody to anyone who will listen.
As bad as things are, I'm thinking Rex might be the only guy presently available that could breathe some life into this bldg. I know its been forever since he was on the sidelines, but I'm thinking him as HC, and another set of eyes as DC and honestly, you can bring back Tanny too to make the moves. Tanny and Rex were a helluva tandem back in the day. That may be a long time ago but honestly, how much worse can it be compared with the steaming pile of shit we have today??
And this is why we have a constant revolving door at GM and head coach. No one of any worth will come here because of that blithering idiot.
Fans, me included, tend to overreact. But this one really is a genuine clusterfuck. It is what it is though and I'm loyal. Its going to be interesting to see how they try to shovel their way back to the surface after arguably the two worst months of football I can ever remember. I still really think this team is talented and capable. Just nothing goes right anywhere ever. You'd "think" things could improve and maybe fairly quickly.
At the end of Rex time, I was done. My belief was that he was an exceptional DC and an incomplete HC. And that he could motivate a team, but the little details on execution especially on Offense and ST passed him by. We needed a executive HC who covered all aspects and was detail oriented. Apparently these are unicorns who can be hired by 15 other NFL teams but not by the Jets... Having said that, I still think that the GM can't really staff an offense that Rex will not screw up, and the lack of attention to detail is a real problem. It's depressing that Rex is likely the best coach that we have had in the last 20 years. Or it's just this.
Rex aint the answer. I get it, we all want his passion and energy in this lifeless wimpy team. But ya know Rex is devoted to his defensive system and its obsolete. It showed at the end of his tenure here and absolutely showed in his time in Buffalo
This was my thinking as well. Bill has the back of ALL his former assistants, sans Mangini, to the point where I could actually see Bill flying to sit with Vrabel to talk him out of coming to this nightmare. The way I see it, the Jets are going to have to throw STUPID money at someone. I don't even think that is going to push the needle. I think this team ends up right back at the beginning. First time GM and HC hoping that their luck changes and they don't continue to shit the bed on an annual basis.
Well the problem with GM’s is that they are all mostly first time GM’s. They have longer tenures than head coaches and don’t get nearly the amount of second chance opportunities that a head coach gets. It’s not nearly as hard to hit on a fucking GM as the Jets have made it though. Idizik to Maccagnan to Douglas is downright embarrassing at this point.
Fuck you woody Fuck you aaron rodgers I hope you both choke on the money you take from jets fans. Many of whom manage to do their jobs. Why can neither of you do your fucking jobs?
The odd thing is that neither was connected with the organization at the same time. How did Belichick develop such a case of the ass for Woody?
I figure it had something to do with us hiring Mangini and then with the team’s brazenness during the Rex years. Those squads really got under his skin.
Maybe not connected by timelines, but there’s no way he hadn’t met Woody. Woody bought the team the same month he left. I think both Bills knew what a moron Woody was, and got out before he got in.
