i have ZERO confidence in Hill.......there is some physical talent but things need to start happening. it seems at times he just isn't comfortable on the field. i dont get it. Dare i say it he reminds tme of j. lam jones.
Why would the Rams make that trade? Do you really think they feel Matt Simms gives them a better chance than Kellen Clemens? Love the fantasy of trades
i would proceed with caution here. if they are giving up on him and willing to give him up for less than the 3rd they used it should signal some red flags. if they are looking for a qb and want to take simms straight up i would do that. other wise no more than a 6th.
If we're gonna trade a pick for WR, let's get somebody that actually has some NFL production. Something similar to the 4th round trade for Chris Ivory. Not a big fan of trying to develop a rookie WR with a rookie QB (even if they played together in college).
Are you saying that we are set at receiver? Holmes is fine, but he most likely won't be here next year. Nelson did good yesterday, but I would rather have him as a #4, not have him in every down. Plus Stedman would fit very well in Marty's system. You can never have too many receivers.
I think were set absolutely, Hill is so much better than last year, Kerley is a top slot receiver is this league already. Nelson is extremely productive. If Holmes can get himself healthy we know what he brings every Sunday. Geno is developing a chemistry with Cumberland. We should keep the status quo and just continue adding pieces in free agency and the draft. What makes anyone think the Rams would let go of a rookie receiver whom they drafted in the 3rd round for a 4th+ rounder? Thats moronic.
Being one of the few guys that grew up a jets fan and wvu fan I loved getting Geno and would've loved having Tavon or Stedman but I don't see this working. I doubt the Rams would trade for any of our QB's and I don't see them trading a rookie 3rd round pick.
if its a 5th an Simms do it. Even if Bailey rides the pine for this season we're cutting Holmes after this season and this would allow us to go into next year with solid WR depth. Hill-Kerley-Bailey-Nelson(?)
Who trades a rookie third round pick for a fifth rounder and and unproven QB with no regular season experience? If they give him up that easy, why would we even want him? This thread is ridiculous.
I agree that it's highly unlikely, but crazier things have happened in the NFL. Like a team trading the fifth overall pick for the seventeenth pick, the fifty-seventh pick, and a pile of trash. Who knows? Maybe the Rams would rather have an untested QB and a draft selection more than an untested QR? Reasonable? Unreasonable? Who knows. Until something happens, it's all just a hypothetical for fun anyways.
we have a bottom 3 group of wideouts with the potential of being bottom 10. we are certainly not "all set" we have nothing but average or worse wideouts and average or worse prospects. our only good wr is a diva who cant stay healthy. we need tons of help. id be all for using next years #1 on a wideout if one was available and worth it(i.e. green/jones/ dez type talent)
no one wants matt simms. matt simms is the worse player in football. not worst qb, not worst backup, but the worst player. he is only in the league because of his dad
I see why we would do this trade and I'm all in favor for it but it doesnt make sense for the Rams to give up on Bailey so early on anyway. Why would they not just sign a guy off the streets instead of trading for one.
Kerley is not good? Stop playing fucking madden you can't have superstars at every offensive position. Ill make sure to remind you of your post when Hill catches a 60+ yard TD next week and your back on his bandwaggon.
So if this is the case, why would the rams give up a third round pick in his rookie year for Simms? Whether you like him or not, Simms is more valuable to us than to some other team where he does not know the play book and has no rapport with the receivers.
