You obviously don't understand football like that. Nobody shuts that down. And clearly you don't understand what he's responsible for. I think you guys just think he just follows guys around all game and no prep whatsoever. Let me know when you actually understand football. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
Look man, if there was one thing I could count on with Revis it was this. He is my favorite Jet of all time and the Revis I saw was not 2009 - ACL Revis. Am I particularly concerned? No...but he got beat by a scrub on at least two occasions in this game.
Were they really unprepared? Based on the rest of your post, it certainly doesn't sound like it or sound like the coaches who were so able and successful with the adjustments would have had the team unprepared to play.
Is it possible with no true number 1 threat and a new scheme that Revis played that way today? Because that sure as hell looked like it to me. He made several tackles/plays on tight ends when he was back in coverage and covering nobody in particular. I would chill for a few weeks until we get an idea what the gameplan will be. Trust me....when we play a team with a true one receiver....you will get what you are looking for.
How did he get himself concussed? Seriously, that is just a silly comment. I saw several of the same in the game thread. He's a competitor. He was trying to set the tone for the game and get his team fired up. There's nothing wrong with his trying to score. Do you seriously think he said to himself, "I'll launch myself in the air, get helicoptured and concussed"? The concussion was a freak thing. He could have easily scored and not gotten concussed.
Don't you know? According to some fans, Revis is supposed to be perfect. He's not allowed to be human. He's supposed to go through an entire NFL season and not give up any receptions.
I think they confuse the fact that top wr typically dont run those routes with shutting those down. TO, Moss, AJ Green, and such dont run routes like that. Scrub players B does. Its an indefensible route unless you're sitting on it and 90% of the time....you aren't. You play the receiver in that situation not the ball
I don't think you can say that we played a great game, but after the first quarter we played the most complete and well rounded football game I've see this team play in some time. Note: No Devin smith, Cro hurt most of game, no sheldon.
What I liked was that we didn't shoot ourselves in the foot like we did the last few seasons. We were REALLY hitting out there. There were some very nice "Pops" early that set the tempo for the rest of the game. No stupid penalties (unlike Cleveland) that really put us in a hole. No wasted time outs for too many (or the wrong) players on the field. And finally, No "What-the-F___ was that?" play-calls. Overall, a nice start to the season. I don't know where we'll end up by the end of the season but if today is any indication, we're not going to be beating ourselves as often anymore.
yeah, no more idiotic 'Wild cat'. I really like Bowles demeanor. I like even keeled guys at the top. I don't need the showman/preacher (Herm), the comatose (Mangini) or the ringleader/Blutarsky type (Rex) - give me somebody that conducts themselves like a professional the way that Bowles does. I realize that it's impossible to project going forward if the media will beat him down to the point where he does lose it, but at least what we've seen so far through a turbulent preseason, is the man conducts himself in the way that I would hope the HC of the NYJ would...
I get we played the Browns but the jets still did their jobs and did it well. Last year we win that game but by 3 points, scoring less than 17. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We haven't scored 31 points in a game since the Miami game last year and before then, against the Raiders in 2013! Need to go back to 2012 to find 2 more games where we scores 31+. Was nice to see.
Fitz is serviceable and I'm certain better than Geno. The game is moving fast for Leonard Williams. Going to be more of a learning curve for him than we expected.
