    Really???

    IMO.
    A Stellar Defense/Running Game > Arm Strength.
If we had that, No one would be even talking about arm strength.

and btw, just the fact that Penny Wins without a Solid Defense and a non existent running game speaks Volumes of the importance of arm strength

And those are just the winners, There are plenty of teams who got to the Super Bowl w/ Lesser arm QB's.

That point is the key right there.

No running game and a average/ Below average D are the biggest things hurting us. Its the Lines, pure and simple.

In the current NFL climate, you need a top QB to really be a contender. Just look at the teams contending year in and year out, look at the past SB winners. The overwhelming majority have the best QBs in the league at the helm.

It's one thing to say CP can develop into one of the top QBs. That's fine. It's another thing to claim CP can get there and doesn't need to be better than what he has shown. 17 TD 16 INT isn't going to get us to the playoffs this year, that's for sure.

Face it, if Penny played for the Pats, they would not skip a beat. What games can you come up with that Penny lost for us as oppposed to won for us. He is a top 10-15 QB in this league. It is not easy to find QB's of his caliber. If you are rooting for Clemmens to start, you should worry for what you wish for. He might be better than him someday. But that someday is quite a ways off.

The Pats would not have won 3 SBs with Penny at the helm. The Pats wouldn't have even beat the Bears last year if Chad was their QB. I'm sorry but comparing Chad to Brady doesn't help you. Chad is a top 15 QB I agree but Brady is one of the best.

Chad probably would have won the Chargers a SB last year though, I think he is better than Rivers (who went to the Pro Bowl last year).

Everybody knows Dan Marino in his prime sucked, Bret Farve in his prime sucked, Peyton Manning sucks, John Elway sucked, Jim Kelly sucked and lest we forget, Joe Willie Namath sucked back in the day as well. The stronger the arm, the more a QB will suck. Just ask any Jetfan brainwashed into thinking arm strength means nothing.

It is difficult to try to speculate how things would have turned out if Penny were the NE QB. The point is that he would be much more effective with the supporting cast the Brady has. Brady would not be nearlly as effective as the Jets QB either.

That was the same O'Brien-Marino argument back in the day, what if they were on the other team? Marino had the great O-line, Don Shula, perfect weather while O'Brien had an aging line, Joe Walton and the wind of the Meadowlands late in the year. You never knew what would happen if you switched them around. I do think Marino would have been a bit more successful with the Jets than O'Brien was because he got rid of the ball a lot faster, which O'Brien didn't do and he took a lot of sacks because if it.

It's always something. If Brady had Herm running the clock and giving the ball to Curtis Martin 30 times a game he might not be who he is today, you never know.
