The organization has never been able to build off a good year & take another step. 97 to 98 & 09 into 10 were the lone exceptions. Under Woody you get the sense that the second anything positive occurs they automatically take the foot off the gas..start sticking their chest out & trying to get cute. Kinda goes hand in hand w. the "Get rich quick" acquisitions we've seen since 2000. Under Woody it's like they are always looking to shed the loser label w.o ever really seeing things through...going for the "easy wrong" over the "hard right". Of course th QB situation plays right into this.
I don't think it does, but we are sort of arguing over who's got the ugliest girlfriend. I think there have been rare occasions when the Jets have had everything - a good enough supporting cast and a good enough QB. There was talent to make multi-year runs in the mid '80s, the late 1990s, the early 2000s and the beginning of the 2010s (whatever you call that decade). It was usually injuries that derailed the team.
