Unless someone offered us a 1st round pick for Wilson, which is extremely unlikely, there no way he's being traded. He also doesn't strike me as the type to ask for a trade.
Well, "Necessity is the mother of invention", in this case MW needs to discover how to minimize getting hit, and he also needs to learn how to become more mobile. He's smart so I'm sure he'll figure it out, but as LaFLeur said it won't happen overnight. Hopefully he can survive the learning curve. What I found curious was LaFleurs repeated response to how they can convert in the RZ better and pass protect and run the ball better - he said "We need to execute better". Well no shit, but then he said that falls on him and the coaches. Also true, but I'd like to hear what they plan to do to get the players to execute better. Do they need to change the play book or the play calling? Do they need to change the blocking scheme? I assume the players are trying hard, but is it lack of effort on some player's parts? In short, I don't feel any more confident that they can do better.
I didn't get the feeling that MLF was in particular control of anything. Didn't really care for his response about ZW progress either. I think he believes his play-calling is not the problem but at the same time, he has to take responsibility based upon Saleh's lead. I personally think he's kind of stagnated strategically and he isn't coming across as a leader IMO. He may not be safe if we don't make the playoffs.
An offensive coordinator is never going to give specific answers in a press conference midseason. They need to keep their mouths shut as much as possible outside of their obligated time with the press like this and even then they can't share anything
Flacco won the Browns game - and saved the entire season. 0-3 and we are not talking potential playoffs. Plenty of people shit on him, too. Why? Because he was godawful in the last game, and not great in the cincy and Ravens games. It is the same with Wilson. They won with him, but he just wasn't living up to the #2 overall pick standard that was set. His numbers have been worst in the league since he came in. That is why people are shitting on him. If wilson was good and was playing well, no one would be shitting on him. It's as simple as that.
I agree. It was kind of a typical non-answer answer, which I guess isn't surprising, but these are glaring problems and I hoped he might shed more light on why. I don't expect him to go into a lot of detail, but his answers really just amounted to: "We gotta try harder". I don't think trying is the issue. Yes, there have been key injuries, but I believe his scheme and play calling have something to do with that, I could be wrong. But when we've been down at the goal line with a yard to go and he can't figure out the right play to get us 6 that doesn't seem to be "execution" so much as bad play calling.
I don't know but it kinda sounds like Mike White is playing Sunday haha "The playoff-contending New York Jets play their biggest December game in seven years on Sunday, and quarterback Mike White -- nursing a sore rib -- has no doubt he will be ready to play. "No, no, none at all," he said Thursday." https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/35259213/jets-qb-mike-white-no-doubt-play-lions
I am actually starting to think we'll be seeing Zach before halftime. Hopefully they dose big Mike with an 8ball of uncut after warm-ups.
So the most important thing for you is that MW plays, regardless of whether he's healthy enough. As long as ZW doesn't play it's like a "win" for you. SMH. Good to see you've got your priorities straight.
huh? I think the best QB should play of course but I was just sharing what White said today. Sorry if it breaks some hearts here. It sounds like it did
It doesn't break my heart, but the "haha" just seems like you have another agenda beyond "I want to see the best QB play".
well it is funny that several posters on here were dreaming about him being hurt and he said he has no doubt he’s playin
If you think about it, Wilson wasn’t even hit and missed like a month. White takes a haymaker shot and he comes right back. That’s gotta play well in that locker room of men
Care to name names and provide quotes? I'm really curious if even one poster has said they hope MW is hurt and can't play. Unlike you and the the rest of your "Zach Haters Club" who seem to prefer that we lose rather than see him get on the field. EMWTK.
WOW! Really grasping at straws now. How big of a hit did Quinnen Williams take when he left the game last Sunday? From what I saw he wasn't hit at all, just something went. Odd how the body works. But carry on with your anti-Zach Crusade. How many converts have you won?
Quinnen Williams is a good player, we give guys like that the benefit of the doubt. Besides I doubt he will be out a whole month
