    Wrong.

Adam Vinatieri's rookie and sophomore seasons under Parcells:

    Code:
Year Team G 1-19 20-29 30-39 40-49 50+ Tot Lg Blk Pct XP XPG Pct
    1996 New England Patriots 16 1-1 9-10 8-8 8-14 1-2 27-35 50 1 77.1 39-42 39 92.9
    1997 New England Patriots 16 0-0 11-11 7-9 6-8 1-1 25-29 52 0 86.2 40-40 40 100.0

Give him a few more games? Why? I know this team has a death wish, but c'mon.

Editing to watch the game. Have to work out the numbers.

Ok, in the charts above 1-19 represents FG's from the 1 to 2 yard lines. That's why there are so few of them. 20-29 represents FG's from the 3 to the 12. There are 20 of those and Viniateri made 19 of them. 30-39 represents FG's from the 13-22 and Viniateri is 15 for 17 on those.

In two full seasons Viniateri had one more miss from inside 40 than Nugent had in this game alone. And I highly doubt that 2 of the misses were in one game.

Players bounce back. I can't be sure Nugent will, but he deserves the chance.

Vin was only 36-39 inside the 40 yard line. How dare he miss those three FGs.

Even if they win, the team has a long way to go.

    All is forgiven for Nugent!

We won the game so Nugent is off the hook this time. We've seen many kickers have days like this, so he deserves a second chance. As long as he fixes his problem next week, then all will be forgotten, otherwise he'll find himself without a job soon if he cant.

He deserves a second chance??? He destroyed the entire team's momentum with those misses. The guy is bad karma, leftover rubbish from the last regime.

He was wiping his sweat because he was relieved as hell he was not called upon for yet another missed FG.
