If the Jets had traded up for Eli in 2004 I'd have been darksiding till the cows came home. I actually was darksiding big time at that point because everybody was headed for 30 except for Chad and he kept getting hurt.
The thing that bothers me the most is Geno was making these same mistakes in college and was VERY inconsistent there also. Many analysts and scouts had him labeled as one of the most inconsistent QB coming out in a long time. He can make throws that will blow your mind, but then turns around and makes the most dumbass decision on an easy throw. I think this is who he is. If he has not changed since his college days, how can people think he will change now? He's making the same mistakes he made his entire career. Now, it's happening at the pro level. Hard to have patience with this.
This may be a textbook example of what happens when the GM is so vested in a DP that it trumps everything. Geno has to play. Why? Idzik.
i know we are in the middle of the rebuild. ive been preaching that here more the anyone. this season is a throw away which is why im for playing geno, all the young guys and let them take their lumps. i can wait til 2016 to really contend, especially once brady is toast. but we certainly do NOT have a good defense. we give up a ton of points and QBs are playing like all-pros against us. sure they are good quarterbacks we faced, but that doesnt mean we have to allow them to go apeshit on us either. in the past we have held top QBs to good ro average days. we arent doing that now. and its because outside of our defensive line our D pretty much stinks. (which again, im ok with, cant fix everything in 1 offseason). but to say our defense is good just ignores the reality of it. Rxs schemes and an elite defensive line are all thats keeping us from getting blown out weekly
This team was in almost complete rebuild mode at the beginning of last season. Their talent level was low and depth was non-existent. They're not a great team now and they are mediocre at best, but they've come a long way from two seasons ago. They've been competitive in every game.
Throw away season ? With New England playing the way they are ? Geno is the only thing throwing this season away. How about keeping the D off the field for more than 3/4 of the game. I'm just not buying that Geno is a better QB than Vick. Every channel I turn to laughs when they bring up our QB and why this bafoon is still in there is beyond me ? Our D will give up a big one here and there but if we could keep them fresh for a change and put up a few points, who knows ? Not trying to bust your balls, It's your opinion. Just think we could be more competetive than you are giving us credit for. The schedule gets easier later on and I would rather see Vick get a try sooner rather than later. At this point it doesn't seem IF Geno gets benched but WHEN geno gets benched.
yep, pretty much. Except the Jets have never had a top tier QB of their own (save, arguably, in the olden days)
That all depends on whether you got Eli Jekyl or Eli Hyde - there's no way of telling who you're getting from week to week. Of course, as Jet fans we'd all expect to get the evil one most of the time with the good one only making enough appearances to keep us on the hook.
the problem for me with the Jets has always been that we NEVER EVER have a decent QB - and if you don't have a good QB you are almost ever going to be competitive - I know its very hard to get a good QB and every draft pick is a crapshoot but you would've thought that we could strike gold just once at that position - it drives me nuts too see the damn colts go from Peyton to Luck- give someone else a go FFS
We didn't "Suck for Luck" like the league allowed Indy to do to get Luck with the #1 overall. With our luck, we'd have fckd the pick anyway probably with another CB or S when the second coming of Cris Carter or Art Monk would be sitting there available.
yep we are either never terrible enough or not terrible at the right times - this franchise just never seems to get it right
I say start him the rest of the season. He deserves at least two years to prove himself. And if he still doesn't progress, then it would be time to find another.
it doesnt matter how easy the schedule gets. when you are a bottom 5 team with bottom 5 talent you are going to struggle no matter who you play. i know its frustrating as a fan, but this is absolutely a throw away season. we are 1 year into a rebuild. we arent a team that can compete. we are bottom 5 at nearly every layer... bottom 5 backs, bottom 5 recievers, bottom 5 qb, bottom 5 linebackers, bottom 5 corners.... idzik has us going in the right direction, but its a process that takes a couple years.
If Woody had half a brain hed fire Idzik. He had such a nice set up for the offseason and absolutely blew it.
Idzik is one of the few good things we have going for us. he will have this team rebuilt in a few years and have something sustainable. idiot fans wanted us to overpay mediocure players. it would have had minimal impact and we'd be watching wilkerson and richardson walk because we wouldnbt have the money to retain them. this team sucks. you dont throw crazy money round in the offseason for a team that sucks and isnt ready to win
I'd become a Packers fan at that point. Rooting for a shitty team that isn't even local anymore? What's the point.
This team is 2-3 player away from competing in this division. You need to spend some to compete if you cant draft worth a shit. Go blow your boyfriend Idzdick some more.
2-3 positional groups away maybe. DB's are garbage O-line is garbage Receivers/Tight Ends are garbage QBs are mediocre at best
