Gregory if he manages to fall DGB or Strong if they go WR, Fisher if they go O-Line. Anyone of those 3 would be great if Gregory is gone.
Mac said he waited as long as he could for trade down options (as we could all tell) and nothing worth it showed up. so his options were to take the platinum prospect or trade out even though he didn't think the deals available were worth it solely because he didn't fit a need. he took platinum, 1st rate rather than second best. sure he could have traded down and gotten the BPA at any particular point a team would offer, but it wouldn't be THE best player that just fell on your lap. why settle for a trade down you're uncomfortable with just so you can avoid bolstering a strength? His interview said as such, he didn't want to be caught missing out on an elite player years down the road for a myopic reason. Its not even just about taking the Best Player Available at their pick, its about taking the BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE PERIOD. I'm sure you see the logic and just disagree though, we're all entitled to do so.
I definitely see the logic, and don't even totally disagree. As I said, my objections really have nothing to do with Williams per se. I'm just tired of all the top picks going to the D and the offense ignored. I'm also tired of things not falling the Jets way in terms of getting a better QB. Hopefully, Bowles will be able to do something with all the 1st round picks where Rex frequently was unable to. Getting the consensus best player in the draft is great, and great value at #6. I'll give Mac that. Also, as I said last night, I'll probably eventually be very happy with this pick, but right now am still very disappointed in not getting Mariota, Fowler or Cooper. Those two stupid wins late in the season cost us. Thanks for responding civilly and respectfully rather than attacking me for whining or being frustrated. If a Jets fan can't vent with other Jets fans without being attacked and insulted, it's a sad and sorry thing.
no playmakers? last 3 years: decker 28 touchdowns marshall 31 touchdowns on what planet did we not have playmakers coming into this draft?
I meant from the draft stand point. We need play makers on offense out of the draft. We just got one so I'm happy haha
And now you have a guy that can take the top off the defense...going against a third CB...no matter which side he lines up on, the safety is going to have a dilemma...do you leave Marshall/Decker singled up, or hope your #3 corner can winn a foot race with Smith?
why does it matter where we get them as long as they are on the roster? do touchdowns not count if the guy wasnt drafted by you?
Crazy but then during the draft they said he was really late to a meeting with one team and totally skipped another....the second I heard that my opinion changed entirely Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
