Before the draft the Jets gave Kendall permission to seek a trade but said they would only take a 4th or higher for him. It would be nice to get a 4th but obviously they had no takers, so maybe a 5th or 6th
they had no takers then- but now things may have changed. The season is upon us, some teams have already lost linemen for the year or an extended period of time, others are looking to make a definite run for the playoffs, so we might find someone who is hitting the "panic" button.
I don't view Kendall being traded as a positive thing -- he's worth more than a sixth or seventh round pick. I can only hope that someone can step up and be solid this year in his place because we all know we didn't draft a replacement.
Finally, let this nonsense end. I believe this was poorly played on both ends, and even if the jets think the set a good precedent on future contracts even with the draft pick involved they did more harm then good IMO. I'll be more optimistic and say we got a 5th rounder out of this.
The FO sent the right message..We are not doing a renegoiate in the 2nd yr of a 4 yr deal..period..and guess what Revis signed a 6 yr deal..The FO is doing what is best for the NY Jets..end of story and guess what Mike and Eric are doing a hell of a job getting what is BEST for the Jets for the long haul..way to go Tangini!!!!!!!!
Finally...our long national nightmare is over... Still don't understand the point of dragging this out for so long. Were they hoping he changed his mind and shut up about his stupid contract? Everyone on this board knew that was never going to happen.
