This caught my eye a few weeks ago on Rotoworld Re: Flacco _____________________________________________________________ "After watching film and the passing drills at the Combine this weekend, one NFL QBs coach compared Joe Flacco to John Navarre and Andrew Walter. "He’s a big, tall, long release guy," the QBs coach said. "Fundamentally he’s pretty good. But I watched him take about a million sacks on tape. He couldn't move around. What’s going to happen in the NFL? Just like...Andrew Walter. He's going to be out of the league in another year. Do you want him?" Source: Chicago Sun Times " _____________________________________________________________ After all the raves around here I was a bit surprised, but apparently not everyone thinks too highly of him
agreed. if they trade out of #6 with dallas, they could pick up flacco later. but i would keep tui (cap friendly) and deal robertson and chad.
Wow... I was just going to bump this...Just took the past 10 minutes to go through 5 pages to see if Junc posted his usual BS...but was going to do this to highlight your correct analysis...
Hi Murrell2878, First time poster in your thread. I was also a huge Flacco supporter in 2008 and still am. Wish we could have found a way to draft him earlier than we did Sanchez because where would we be now? I told my wife last night, "Honey, if we had taken this guy, the whole Jets world would be different right now." Can you imagine if Flacco was our QB and how different things would be today?
I always though Joe Flacco was above average but not elite, this Super Bowl does not change that. His supporting cast makes him great not the other way around. As an aside, as a Louisville fan, I remembered when the Ravens selected Joe Flacco and all the Louisville fans believed the Ravens should of taken Louisville's own Brian Brohm. They "guaranteed" Joe Flacco will be a bust. How stupid must they feel now.
We just need to give Kellen some more time with a better o-line and some receivers not named Justin McCairens or Chaz Schillens. :drunk:
Murrell was dead on. Even still, nothing says he would have succeeded if the Jets had drafted him. Still a team sport. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
Well done! Me either. I didn't see him ever playing consistent enough to help BAL win a SB, but man he did and more than that
great call murrell, man he had alot of history to battle against too. that franchise was a good qb away from being great for such a long time and they just seemed to shit themselves qb wise time and time again.
It's pretty interesting to see how similar the situation we were back in that time and where we are now. You can call Mark our Chad Pennington, and Kellen Clemens can be something of an equivalent to Greg McElroy. We were heading into a year that was not perceived as a great QB draft year, similar to this year. It makes you think that there has to be a diamond in the rough with this draft class. Who is the next Joe Flacco, Murrell??
oh bro yea lets not wait only one year for a strong qb class lets just waste our draft picks taking fliers on qbs right now. oh yea bro I'm so much happier we have the handsome Sanchez instead. who cares how you play, its all about having sweet ass hair and a chiseled jawline.
right we should pass on every qb regardless of grade and value because we are guarenteed to have a shot at a qb a year from now
