I have said over and over again that I will be completely satisfied with a multitude of choices...Whether we go after Brick to solidify our LT position, or Mario Williams to be our Richard Seymour, AJ Hawk to play along with Vilma, and all the QBs I am in favor of... I have others I would prefer...but if you think I am not open minded you might want to rethink that. Check out RobA's infatuation with Deangelo Williams...then come back to me about being narrow minded... PS: I never even mentioned I wanted Matt Leinart and only Matt Leinart in this thread (or any other thread for that matter) So I don't know how you came up with that...
I dont think Chads cap hit is that bad anymore because of the restructure. There is no reason to let him sit on the bench when you might have a ist rd QB on you roster. If they have a bad year and Ramsey were to get hurt then your franchise QB most get time. Of course that is all depending on them drafting a QB in rd 1. Which i dont think will happen. Like i said earlier they get Williams or Hawk and get the tackle via free agency or latter in the draft. Williams and Hawk are too good to pass up. They both will be stars.
The thing is I didn't even mention it in this thread...I have never been real thick headed about it...
No we should not draft a QB 1st because we have needs immediately elsewhere and we can always pick up Croyle or a QB later.
NO QB!!!! We already have two! why put another quarterback who will probably be on the bench and pay him a ton of money. With the O-Line in need of as much help as it does, how effective can jay cutler/matt leinart be..
Yeah.... QB's are a dime a dozen. Hey, Brady was a sixth round pick! I say we wait till the seventh round to get our next QB, just to prove how much smarter we are! That'll show 'em. Yeah.... a franchise QB in the seventh round. Now I'm gettin STOKED!
How many times do we have to say this, if Mangini loves Leinart or Cutler than because of the importance of that position the Jets are going to trade up to get either one. It all depends on how high he has Leinart rated. For the record we have one capable quarterback right now. Remember a couple of years ago Mangini called Pete Caroll and asked if he could spend a week at USC to learn about his offensive style. Carroll invited him and Mangini went, so Mangini might have a unique perspective when it comes to Leinart
A QB in the first rd I can live with(even if I don't love it). What I REALLY don't want is to trade up. Keep all dem picks. Get some talent on this team(and not just at 1 position).
good 'ol tanny im very happy about the way their covering up the draft, hes virtually creating all the threads in the forum. I think that for long term gains, we wont draft a qb in round one. I personally would not draft a qb at all and would make the building blocks for a great team (O line, patch up the lb, fix the safety and replace law) and replace others including a rb and then next year (i think well still be in the top 10 picks) then mabey trade up with one of the older players, mabey kimo and then get a high up qb next year. How does that sound? thats just my opinion
chad can't really be cut this year, and it wouldnt make any sense, plus it would look bad to everyone around the league, and would blacklist our team when it came to FA with that said, he's on basically a one year deal, he'll either be cut after this coming season or he'll restructure yet again (he'd probably have to get us into the playoffs to keep the current contract he's scheduled to get after this season)
