I agree he's right there in the mix, but I would probably still go" 1. Mahomes 2. Rosen 3. Darnold 4. Mayfield
If Kizer had stayed in school he might well have been the consensus No. 1 this year. It's impossible to know.
Where has anyone said that Mahomes is more accurate than Allen? Where are you getting that Allen is inaccurate? His sub 60% comp %? Thats not accuracy, thats completion %. A lot more than just the QBs accuracy goes into that. Again, not to beat a dead horse but Mahomes was on no ones top QB list going into the draft, was a day two at best QB going into the combine. Allen has been included in just about everyones top 3, right up there with Rosen and Darnold and some fans treat him like a scrub while crying about missing out on Mahomes. Its two different criteria being applied.
The sad irony about all this is that we had the 6th pick traded up to the 3rd igniting this big debate over Allen and Mayfield, the 2 likely available prospects at that spot. We could of have had Mahomes at 6 last year, a prospect who is essentially the best of those 2 merged into one prospect. Allen may have the slightly better arm strength but Mahomes has the better arm talent IMO. So you get the Allen type arm but with production while also getting what everyone loves best about Mayfield in a bigger body.
Allen's may be stronger but Mahomes has the better arm talent. He can make every throw even some never seen before like no look passes. http://www.everythinglubbock.com/sp...ok-passes-at-practice-turning-heads/423671274
I'm pretty sure a QB is going #2 whether to the Giants or a trade up partner. With that said who do you the likely remaining 2 QBs will be?
Whatever this additional description means, arm talent. What? Allen has the stronger arm, theres nothing more to compare with their arms. Would love to see this list of passes that Mahomes can make that anyone has never seen before and Allen cant make. Nonsense. Thats pretty comical actually. 100 years of football and a QB originally predicted as a day two prospect is throwing passes no one has ever thrown before. I wish we had this kind of homeristic reporting around our team. And you actually believe this is true.
Who do you see trading up to two and what will it cost them? I dont see it. Giants arent dropping out of the top 10, narrows it down to Denver? What do the have to offer?
Mahomes is essentially Mayfield on steroids. I’m surprised you don’t like Baker. He’s small and doesn’t have the top end arm strength but he has all the instincts and natural passing ability that made Mahomes special.
Browns will go QB undoubtedly. Giants most likely. Colts would have traded with somebody for sure (Bills) and they'd take a QB. Broncos are in the QB market. All 4 QBs could have just as easily been gone as they all could have been there.
Yet somehow anyone of these QB's that haven't started a single game is worth a 1 and 3 second round picks? Talk out of both sides of your neck much?
Unless the Giants swerve its entire fan base, I think everyone is thinking they go Barkley or trade-down.
I think if they are staring at Rosen and Barkley, they have a very tough decision. The outward interest in Barkley makes me think they are trying to setup somewhat of a smokescreen and drive up the price of their own pick. Either way, let's say they go Barkley and three of the top four are gone. Would you rather sit at 6 and have no choice but Josh freakin Allen or be at 3 and have the choice of Rosen, Mayfield or Allen?
I completely agree. Anyone who thinks Allen is better than Mahomes simply has a hard on for velocity and arm strength and doesn't understand what arm talent (which is the combination of arm strength and brain processing) is.
Please. How accurate are those guesses? Not only in terms of who gets picked where, but who actually succeeds? And it's not just about pure ranking head to head, the rankings attempt to factor in which teams need a QB, and what they desire in a QB based on their system, style, and geographic location. All of these influence who they think will get picked where based upon where teams who have a QB need are drafting.
I think the Giants are hoping Darnold is there. If he's not, trading with the Broncos would make a lot of sense if price is right (and I think the Broncos would take Allen, Giants would take Nelson). Third option Barkley. I don't seem them on being high on any QB other than Darnold. Although I would love for them to take Rosen off the board, and watch the dysfunction continue.
