The poll clearly reads "Who would you rather have starting at QB for the Jets?" I think you're the only one that doesn't understand.
We should get rid of our question mark (Geno) just to replace him with more question marks? Sounds like a plan.
The Jets didn't miss on La'el Collins. Collins' agent clearly said that any team would be wasting their pick to take Collins in the 7th. They set up very specific conditions, contract amounts and locations where Collins was willing to play. The northeast and the Jets were not on the list. I would have loved adding Collins perhaps more than anyone else on this site, but alas, it was NEVER going to happen with the way things played out. The only way the Jets could have even possibly wound up with Collins was if they had still taken him in the 1st round. Even then, I'm not sure he would have signed.
when will some fans realize, that just bc we have a need for a franchise QB, that doesn't mean mediocre players will suddenly be better.
Show me where glennon could gave been had for cheap I'm assuming someone would have traded for him if that was the case
Who's to say Tampa even wanted to trade Glennon? They see him as a serviceable backup that could step in if they think Winston isn't ready, or could play if Winston struggles. But yep we could've had Glennon all we needed to do was trade Mo Wilk and 2016's 1st round pick.....
I get that, but it's still ridiculous to say someone has failed before training camp has even opened...
It doesn't look to me like the Jets have any intention of bringing in any other QB's. However, if you're looking for a promising young (27) QB who put up good numbers at least one season, I'll throw out the name Josh Freeman. He looked to be very promising until they switched coaches to Greg Schiano. True, Freeman did not perform well for Schiano, but I don't know who did. Schiano fired after two seasons. I would take Freeman over Davis, Glennon, Geno or Fitzpatrick, all QB's mentioned in this thread.
If Collins would have signed, then yes, I agree, but based on everything I've seen coming from his agent, he wouldn't have signed. He would have demanded a trade or sat out a year. I could be wrong, but it would have been taking a big chance. They'd have had to speak to his agent and gotten his word that Collins would have signed. Remember that at first his agent said that Collins would sit out a year and enter the draft next year but was told by the NFL he couldn't if he went undrafted, but if he was drafted and didn't sign, that he could enter the draft again next year.
Jets wanted AJ Cann at the top of the 3rd no doubt about it. If he was available, he would be a Jet. Instead they traded down.
so easy to say in hindsight. at that point all 32 teams had no idea of his legal status just yet....nobody was going to do it, and nobody did.
