They went bpa and didnt reach and im ok with that. Last year was not supposed to be a great offensive draft.

We need to give the offense a major overhaul. We have money to spend, we have draft picks to use. I hope we draft offense early and we spend the majority of the money on the offense.

Rex can produce a top 10 defense based on his schemes alone.

They went BPA according to the board that Rex heavily influenced. My point.

Except we don't have a top 10 defense.

Yeah Rex can't even rest on his defensive laurels. His pass defense is terrible, and for a supposed defensive genius who has committed so many draft picks and money into the secondary it's inexcusable for the pass defense to be this bad.

I've seen enough of the Rex show, this team doesn't come into games prepared. In 4 years Rex has managed a good front 4 and that's it.

If we go 8-8 it would cement my position that we should keep Rex. With the holes in our secondary and our offense being devoid of talent, going 8-8 would be a huge accomplishment with a rookie qb. We have 12 picks in the draft and a ridiculous amount of cap space. Assuming, Idzik does this right, we will be much more competitive next year and be legitimate playoff contenders.

Yes we do. I know the stats say we dont but if we had a competent offense then the defense wouldnt be on the field all the time.

    Our defense is top 10.

    seriously?

How many of those points against are a direct result of offensive turnovers?

You dont think they went BPA? Find any mock draft that shows Milliner lower than #9, combine that with Revis gone, Cromartie about to be gone..... and no one else worth a crap. *

The other guy? he may be DROY this year

*btw, I wasn't a fan of the picks at the time, but you can see the logic in them..... if you take the Rexhater blinder shades off, and consider "was there really a worthy offensive talent available then" (at the time I wanted Warmack)

So if you're going to ignore every metric that shows we're not a top 10 defense and go by the eye test I still disagree. I watch this defense every week and they rarely impress me outside of some nice run defense at times. It's a passing league BTW.

We have the 26 th ranked pass defense,Its an issue,I get what your saying but we are 13 th overall and theres been times like yesterday with the 90 yard screen play and Reeces 65 yard run last week where u scratch ur head

It doesnt impress me either but what defenses in the NFL really do? Seattle is amazing, Niners are pretty good but even they have bad days. The Chiefs defense? what happened to them.

I get what you mean though but this is the defense the NFL wants.

Exactly, and considering he's drafted DB's in the first and second round, and signed big free agent DB's, there's no excuse for his pass defense to be this bad. Last year this team let up 2000 yards on the ground, they were soft, Rex committed to stop that bleeding but opened up a gaping wound in pass defense.

I don't care what anyone says this defense wasn't great last year, it's not great this year, and the offense is abysmal, it's time for the Rex show to end. I'm sure he'll go on to a successful career with another team after lessons learned with the Jets and getting teamed with a real good OC.

If the defense doesn't impress you then why do you want to keep Rex? Isn't that supposed to be his calling card? Isn't that why we're supposed to put up with an inept offense?

Maybe we'd be better off with an offensive minded coach who stacks his draft board in favor of the offense and knows how to put points up. I'm sure we can find another DC to field an unimpressive defense.

I get you're used to the coaching carousel that was the ny jets. But u think consistency in needed and he needs to stay.

We've featured the worst QB play in the league the last three seasons. I'm no Columbo, but I suspect there's a connection there.

No I just understand that this team want expected to win 4 games. We exceeded that with a new set of starting wr each week. I understand we need more talent and changing a coach won't make this talent any better.

We have had 3 different OC's the last 3 years. All 3 apparently work for the HC.
