So aside from winning and being in first place, nothing positive has happened. Not even in the Bills game, right? Oh wait that's cuz the Bills suck, I'm guessing! Too funny. Forget the WC, the division is there for the taking this year and we got a tough win on the road in Miami. The most important stat is wins, I don't care how you do it. A win is a win is a win. If we squeak by the Niners and win 3-0 I'll still be happy. All good teams have ugly wins (and losses). It just gets old hearing fans constantly nitpick when plenty of other teams have issues as well, including many of the teams that are considered better than us, yet have worse records.
Who are these "quite a few" young draft picks up front? It's just Wilk (and to a lesser extent McEntyre, whose 28). Everyone else is old balls. Coples doesn't start. Barely sees the field, same for Davis.
I thought they would come out and smash people in the mouth with the run and play great defense. They are far from who i thought they would be.
And what body of work or hallucinogen are you basing this on? That's no different than me saying, "I think TT can be atop CB in the league. Big, Fast, etc. He can be a 1 or 2 CB." Honestly...
Since U posted the exact same thing that I have been posting for months & months & months now be prepared to being accused of being me under a different posters name
It does not matter under any circumstances since for sure, sure they are NOT winning the SB at the end of this season. When is everybody going to learn the only good team is the SB winning team. All others are just plain LOSERS
I am sure evrybody learned from Lombardi that winning is the only thing. We have two wins in three games..do I think this team is great? Hell no but until we are at least at the half way point I won't be writing them off just yet. I do think they will have to score at least 31 a game to win with Revis out but I also think if Ryan lets Sparano loose he is the kind of OC who can play that kind of offense..we will see. If we continue to run up the middle on third and 5 or throw 5 yard passes on third and 8 we might not win another game all year.
Then it probably is..we gave up 75 in three games with Revis..I don't think it will improve without him.
If the Steelers and Miami games were in any way indicative of what this team is all about, then I'll just tivo the upcoming Jets games and watch something else. It's just too hard to invest my time in the crap they're putting on the field. That ain't football, it's torture. Rex looks like he had a lobotomy along with a stomach staple. The Jets are downright boring. Revis looked like the only player with any fire, and now he's gone. I'd rather watch the Patriots lose than a Jets win like last week.
I have in the past dvr'd the game if it was a particularly nice day, or certainly if I was out of town and heading home later in the day. So I can't say it would be a new thing for me to do that. But I may well do that for some of the games coming up. Still I will watch, as a clinician if you will for the most part. Getting fired up about this team right now seems like it will be a hard thing to do, unless somehow Sanchez can elevate his game.
yup - 2-1 and in first place. Only 2 teams with a better record in entire league. New offense and coordinator, QB looked sharp 2 of 3 games, missing QB favorite target (Keller) and best Defensive player in NFL. Do you even remember what the Jets used to be? They used to "play to win the game" . Now they actually do win games. nigga please
Somehow in my mind I totally see this season playing out as a Patrick Ewing theory Bill Simmons Special. http://proxy.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?id=1193711 I for some reason see them switching defensive scheme and playing better and becoming better and better on offense. But, yea I know 96% chance that this doesnt actually happen. I can hope can't I?
I don't think this team is that bad, Powell has shown he has shown some ability to be an effective runner, which in turn might make Greene more effective since the load would be taken off him to be the primary RB. Sanchez has been solid so far. The receivers arent THAT bad. Let's see how this season plays out before jumping the gun.
