Just because we only sign the old, past their prime players? Right?

The same guy that won a super bowl last year and crushed a pro bowl QB in the process(Carson Palmer) + he's alot cheaper than Abe

There's so many new posters that need to be told this. It's sad.

Read my user name. PleaseWinSuperBowlJets. I want to win a Super Bowl. Not signing 35 year old players and going 4-12 again.

Maybe the 35 year old can bring veteran leadership and experience and help some of the younger players on this team. Has it occurred to you that Kimo could help our young players develop into Super Bowl champs in the future?

If you think signing big name players (Peterson, Woodson, Edge, etc.) can get the Jets the Super Bowl next year, you are sadly mistaken. If you are a true fan, then you won't complain about rebuilding. I for one, are looking forward to seeing what some of our young players can do. If you have no patience for rebuilding, then I suggest you should go support another team. Going 4-12 is just a part of the hard path that will eventually lead to a Super bowl. Please have patience.

It is called depth and veteran leadership. For the past 5 years the Jets had NO depth, every injury sent us into a tailspin.

The Pats and Steelers built there teams through the DRAFT. Most of their stars they drafted and developed. Then used FA to fill roles and for depth.

This is called rebuilding. It is being done slow and steady, and we have to wait to see if the results are positive. I think it will be. But to go out and sign every young player out there, without any thought to team dynamics or the future, is a crappy way to build a winning team.

The argument could be made that without him the Steelers wouldn't have beat the Bengals.

The quote about playing 76 Bucs against the 85 Bears in madden is Key. THIS IS NOT MADDEN 2006, 2005, 2004, etc... nor is it ever going to be any Madden game, sorry! See in the real NFL you don't trade players away fro unreasonably high draftpicks as soon as they reach 32. You can not take those unreasonably high draftpicks and then trade them for LT, Reed, Manning, etc... See, in the real NFL players actually have to have heart and love for the game, they must have what it takes to be a leader...you can not just name them team captain and work on their stats to make them a wonderful team leader. In the real NFL players have to learn their playbooks, positions, and roles. Teams need veteran leadership that buy into their philosophies. The Jets needed a couple of players with experience in the 3-4 and who could be veteran leaders, they signed Chattam and Kimo. They may sign a Willie McGinest to for the same reason, though you will probably like him because his name is a household name, it is Willie McGinest after all! Put down the controller and get a clue.

For the antsy ones who want the Jets to sign impact free agents yesterday:
If you don't like this, I suggest you stop being an NFL fan. Otherwise, getting crazed about this will result in health problems.
