Besides the point in this case. I just didn't happen to like seeing him as a Jet in the first place.

Brett Favre, Alan Faneca, Curtis Conway, Bryan Cox (though learned to like him as a coach) and Ty Law make my list. Too much Boomer on the list, he was awesome when I was a kid.

The thread is not about cheering for a player to fail. Every player named in this thread was probably cheered for by that poster when they were a Jet, that does not mean that they liked them individually though.

There's a big difference between Clarke and Coleman types and Gladys Gholston. Gholston is stealing a lot of money and is essentially only on the roster because of his contract and high draft status. No way would a late round pick or undrafted free agent stay on a roster for two seasons and do absolutely nothing noteworthy on the field.
On the other hand, fringe players though they may be, Clarke and Coleman truly earned their way onto NFL rosters.
I have no respect for Gladys Gholston. He was a one-trick pony in college (the trick was bull rushing amateur tackles; okay, fine, some of them did move on to the pro ranks). Gladys needs to develop more pass rush moves and find some desire. If he can figure out those two things maybe he'll finally get a sack.

ok so what your saying is if you had been drafted 6 overall and give a 30 mil.contract you would've turned it down.or renegotiated it down to a more deserving wage after failing to produce to the expectations.c'mon man ,say he's disappointing but he's not stealing money.

Ken O'Brien knew he was a bum the day they drafted him. With Marino available who was good as a freshman at Pitt. Only the Jets draft like that. They'll take a player from Slippery Rock U cause they like his potential over a player that you just know will be a better pro. Brady over Sapp, Gholston over Mayo and the hits just keep on coming.

    Nugent.

I was down on him ever since Herm decided to burn a 2nd rounder to get him.

I've always hated Keyshawn Johnson, his YAC were ridiculous. Plus throw in the book and I couldn't wait to see him leave.

    LaMont Jordan.

I hated his f'ing guts, did not understand why any Jet fan thought he had an ounce of a starting Running Back's ability in his body and frankly, as one of Curtis Martin's biggest fans, did not like that he was taking away carries from C-Mart. Yes, yes, I know, LaMont was the master of not touching the ball for 3 quarters and then rushing for 5 or 6 ypc in the 4th Quarter against crappy defenses, but I still can't believe most Jet fans wanted to give him big money and be our feature back.

So glad Al Davis did and we didn't.

Otis Smith, I had nightmares of seeing average wide receivers blowing by him for touchdowns.....after getting torched all game he would get one int and it was a big deal.

You found it hard to root for O'Brien since the Jets organization picked him over Marino?

I really don't undertand that one...

  18. Yeah i agree. That is ridiculous....Kob had a pretty nice career up until the O-line started falling apart and Walton lost control of the franchise.

Additionally, there was not ONE jet fan on TGG on 08 draft day that was lobbying for Mayo....and I'd say at least 50% of jet fans were screaming for Gholston to be the pick.

Nothing personal, but did you just call Nugent a 1st round pick and Herm a retard in the same post?
