I think it takes more wherewithal to stick it out through the embarrassing losses like he is, than it would be to bench him for someone they said wasn't as prepared as the season started. What are you saying to the fans and the team if you do that? 'We were wrong, he's not good enough, he's not prepared for the NFL even though half the football analysts in the country were creaming themselves over his intangibles and his mechanics' - they are basically blaming his mental inability to deal with starting early, and that is a bad sign, no matter what examples you can name of where it worked.
