A few preseason games are not enough to judge his ability. One start in the NFL is not enough to judge his ability. Hell, I watched an average of 3-5 Ducks games per season when he was in college, and I still say you can't judge how he'll be at this point. Offensive gameplans are crafted around the quarterback. We haven't seen Kellen play with an NFL offense with a gameplan crafted around his skills yet. Until that happens, we have only the slightest idea what kind of QB he'll be. I have a feeling he'll be great based on what I saw from him in college, but I certainly wouldn't pass judgment (partial or final) based on that. Even if he gets in and starts at some point this season, there is NO way we take a first round QB in next year's draft. You don't give a guy 8 - 10 games and decide he's a bust. You especially don't do that when you have a number of holes on both sides of the ball that need to be addressed. You're also right that we don't waste a high first rounder (if that's what we end up with) on a big man with all of our problems. That's why we trade down, add picks, and try to address multiple holes.
