I still don't get how there is NO digital footprint. At all?! Anywhere?! About ANYTHING?! I keep circling back to that because it's unbelievable to me given the level of spying in this country for people who are just buying cat treats from Petco.

Most of the events depicted happened between twenty and thirty years ago. The spying didn't get out of hand until the Patriot Act passed in late 2001. Even then the real big data collections didn't begin until the late 00's.

I'm not surprised at the lack of a digital footprint. I am a bit surprised at the lack of a paper trail though. Pilots have had to file flight manifests forever and those are theoretically recorded at both the departure and the destination.

True enough, but hear me out on this. This trial is over 4 victims from 1994 - 2004. Epstein was first convicted in 2008, and up until Epstein was jailed the second time and she fled they never once said anything to each other in between all of that? Ever? Or does it come down to admissibility? I don't know about you, but something doesn't sound right to me here.

It's kind of interesting that he was not charged as an accessory. I'm sure the inference will be brought up by the defense.

Whatever actual routine recording the government does of conversations between people not under active investigation will never come to light in a case like this.

We have no idea how much of our electronic information is actually intercepted and stored and no American government will ever admit to doing that let alone allow the fact to become crystallized in an American judicial proceeding.

If the government is doing this it is absolutely not in the governments interests to have it come to light in any proceeding that does not involve the highest levels of national security and threat to the nation.

This of course is because the fact that they were doing this would over-ride all other proceedings and bring down the current government in the next election.

This trial feels staged... meant to suppress info.

I highly doubt any jaw dropping revelations will come of it.

It's really hard to suppress info with the person being tried likely facing 40 years of hard time over multiple sentences.

I suppose Ghislaine Maxwell could have some kind of deal cooked up with the authorities but the jurors are fairly likely to go all busta-deal in their deliberations.
