The Ghislaine Maxwell Trial

This is almost certainly bullshit.

The reports at the time of Epstein's suicide indicated that the CC system in the corridor outside his cell was non-functional at the time he killed himself. That makes lost tapes irrelevant since there was no media recorded in the period of time in which Epstein killed himself.

This was one of the problems immediately reported at the holding facility and it led to a separate investigation into how Epstein's 'suicide' might have been facilitated by others or even have been a homicide instead of a suicide.

 

Having concrete digital evidence would be a huge help, but they don't as far as I know, which is mind-blowing. I still think she gets it, but the appeals will be fast and furious. She's being painted as a victim, a patsy, and a scapegoat, which is the core of her defense.

 

They are saying on the news this morning “at least a month long trial”

It would have been out of character for Jeffrey Epstein not to make tapes of other powerful people in compromising positions. Where those wound up is anybody's guess.

The way the prosecutors have chosen to proceed with her case leads to a lot of speculation on their motives.

It appears that they have charged her in a way that she could be convicted on 5 or 6 counts, each of which carries a 5 to 10 year maximum prison sentence. If their sentencing recommendation is for consecutive sentences then they could effectively put her in jail for life if the judge accedes to the request.

They then would be in position to offer her deals on smaller sentences than a life sentence which cumulatively carry the same weight. The public isn't going to be outraged if Ghislaine Maxwell serves 3 or 4 years in prison before getting out after she makes a deal with prosecutors. They'd likely be outraged if she got a deal to overturn a life sentence, particularly if she served very little time other than time already served.

 

The first witness testified directly to Maxwell abusing her while Epstein was also abusing her.

She is one of the witnesses that was heavily compensated out of the Epstein victim's fund. $5M in 2020.

This trial is going to become a conspiracy fantasists delight.

 

The funny part is that we are tracked as ordinary citizens no matter what we do down to the brand of toothpicks we buy, but there's nothing?

 

I'm just a tad saddened that Epstein didn't sing like a canary.
