“Sensational and impure”??!! I don’t get that. I hope the judge at least had the decency to couple that with the word “prejudicial”. We don’t exclude evidence in this country solely because something may be too naughty to hear. Hell, even gut-churning photos of mangled corpses don’t get sequestered if they’re relevant to the trial.
That's been going on for at least a year. Supposedly it was doctored and leaked online and that's why it "can't" be introduced. The funny part is that Suzanne Ircha, Woody Johnson's second wife, was on the list. A+ for trolling the Jets.
The trial of Jussie Smollet starts today as well... should be a short trial. I doubt there's any surprises in that story... just more lies about the faked homophobic/racist attack. Maybe Kamala can take the stand as a character witness.
I looked into this. It was a strange, misleading post from Acad. For starters that decision was made back in March, so it was not exactly breaking news like his post makes it out to be. Additionally, the ruling was not on evidence for her case, as he claimed in his post, it was about public access of the evidence gathered. Acad also bastardized the Judge's quote. The "sensational and impure" comment wasn't about the evidence being too naughty for the jury to hear at all. Her entire quote provides context: "Those portions of the transcript, which were redacted in the civil matter, concern privacy interests and their disclosure would merely serve to cater to a ‘craving for that which is sensational and impure,’” The "craving" word is pretty much the most important part of the quote, that Acad left off- unintentionally im sure - The Judge is saying she agrees with some of the civil court decisions to leave certain details out of the public record, as she doesn't want her courtroom to turn into TMZ trash. The public doesnt need to know the names of every scumbag Ghislane Maxwell went down on for example for the jury to give her a fair trial on these charges. TMZ & Twitter though, would like to know - hence the 'craving for the sensational' line. here is some more information: https://lawandcrime.com/high-profil...onal-and-impure-to-be-revealed-to-the-public/
Ahh. Now THAT makes more sense. Thanks for drilling down. Having said that, I do think there’s some public interest in knowing all of the who-what-when-wheres of an organized operation involving sexual abuse of minors. Not the salacious details. Just the parts where Maxwell and Epstein introduced Filthy Rich Guy #1 to Underage Jane Doe #6. Or how Unnamed Royal Highness asked that Underage Jane Doe #12 be sent to his room. But I’ll leave that fight to the NY Times. (sigh)
I don't think any big revelations will come out in this trial. The Judge will not let it get out of hand... she doesn't want to fuck up her new appointment to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit...one step away from the Supreme Court... Here's a pretty good rundown of the players involved. https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/crime/article256051297.html
She's going to be found guilty on all counts. The prosecutors have been very careful not to overcharge here. They've only charged the things that are already proven in the record from the civil cases. This conservative approach to charging her makes her defense extremely difficult. The jury is basically going to have to decide whether the preponderance of the evidence leads to guilt beyond a reasonable doubt and the evidence of the crimes she has been charged with is mutually supporting towards this conclusion. By not adding in dozens of cases they might have charged her with they have left a very tidy package for the jury to consider.
It’s rather sad that the media buries the coverage of this entire thing because they know there’s members of the political, celebrity and financial elite involved on every single side. Sure there’s some half-hearted coverage on all the major media outlets but there are some great investigative reporters in this country. If someone wanted to get some tangible names and evidence either to direct participation or intimate knowledge as to what these scumbags were up to, they could find it out. It’s purposely buried and a sad example of how money can hide most crimes in this country if there’s enough of it involved.
