I know Cman, but I recall you saying something to the effect of "I'm in the show me category". Do you really believe the Jets showed you enough this season to believe we will be in a better situation next season?
Yes... Because of Mac and Bowles hopefully learning from Year One of their regime. Our schedule will be harder because we didn't go 4-12 but I highly doubt we go 4-12 next year either. We won't win 10 games, but our roster will start to look younger and more talented (I Hope). Mac showed me a lot in his first year as GM so I feel good with him and the new Scouting Dept. doing a much better than those idiots that gave us Stephen Hill, Vernon Gholston and other immortals. I feel better about Bowles in year two as he seems to be learning every game. He's not the finished product by any stretch but neither is this roster. I have a feeling Bobby April walks the plank this offseason and Kacy Rodgers will have to show more than he did this year or Bowles will have no choice but to launch him too. Looking at all the challenges coming up for this team, I think we all knew it was far more than a one year reclamation project here. I'm thinking 2017 at the earliest as we transition from Fitz to whomever assumes the mantel. Our LB corps has to be completely revamped. Our DLine will have to be upgraded as Wilkerson, Snacks and even perhaps Richardson moves on..
I agree on all accounts about our front office and head coach. I believe that is a solid foundation to build on. But Mac needs to take a serious look at some of the assistants and discuss with Bowles our possibilities moving forward. We also need to get our QB situation straightened out because I don't think Fitz, Geno, or Petty are viable options next year if we want to improve. I'm just so frustrated because this looked to be a year we could make a push for the big dance and we SOJ'd it right away. Like you said, the heart and soul of our D could be completely blown up this offseason, and we aren't getting any younger at other positions. I honestly don't know what to expect this coming season, which makes this loss even more painful.
