Garrards history, was injury. Didnt take a bit of gray matter to see that coming.P.s. if you had an extra brain cell, you would remember, when I predicted garrard wouldnt make opening day, all you haters called me daft. My reasoning went something along the lines of, its the easiest way to rehab sanchez rep in the media, because the inury is...coming. And it did.

Critisizing me for saying Vagiants? I though this was a Jets board? The Giants, you may not recall...altered the sign when the Jets hired Parcells, to more closely resemble the Vagiants logo.
My case doesnt need help. I keep being right, you keep being wrong. Choosing disparagement, instead graceful retreat, weakens your argument.

What comes off as sounding like a 10 year old, is your rickety logic.
I keep being right, you keep being wrong, and you just resign yourself to argument by volume and disparagement.

On the Diva point, im not ready to believe it yet. Hes a young guy, used to having his ass kissed...i think the diva question is a media thing, until he goes Mevi$.

If he is so good he walks in and drains the swamp, he gets latitude. If not, then his biggest quality is 'tude.

He has not, however gone out of his way to counteract that perception either.

And as for Sanchez's future. He is signed through 2016 at bargain basement prices for a proven playoff QB. And Geno appears to be headed down Mevi$ Way.

The only way Sanchez doesnt remain the starter, is if he fails under Morningwod.

You may believe I am wrong about Sanchez remaining the starter, in 2014.

But we both know. I am 2-0. And you are O-fer, so far.

The Jets will start no worse than 3-1. And when they are in contention late, Sanchez os your 2014 starter. If they make the playoffs this year,...hes good till '15.

As for the Ferarri thing, it was reported by Geno fans here as being posted on one of his social media sites. Not me.

And he is sgned thru 2016.

The Jets are wasting their time with Sanchez. He's only on the team because of the ridiculous unnecessary extension they gave him. The longer Sanchez plays, the less development time Geno sees...and if Geno isn't the answer, that won't be determined until later than necessary down the line because Sanchez is playing.

As far as I'm concerned, that's all there is to it.

If Geno isn't ready to start come week 1, that's one thing...but if this QB competition is anywhere close to even being a tie, you gotta start Geno right out of the gate. Sanchez is right on the verge of truly embarrassing this franchise.

Hey, i have already admitted, that I found the idea of someone beong more inompetent than Schotty, incomprehensible.

Since I did, tell me how Morningwood isnt better than any OC rex has had?

Or are you just being a jackoff?

    Please.

It was clear from the git go. Geno was a great value pick, but..,he is not half the QB Sanchez is. TODAY. Unless you contend Geno would have flourished under Schotty, or in an injury plagued 2012.

Considering his offense was, Shotgun, check Tayvon, or go. I dont think thats a likelyhood.

I think Smith can be better than Sanchez. i just dont thiinl he is, today.and apparently, the only people who dosagree, are rougjly 6 of ypu.

    But hey.,,l

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Let's start with week 1. The Jets are currently underdogs AT HOME to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs are giving a point and a half right now. Only four other teams have worse odds to win the Super Bowl than the Jets.

I hope you are not a betting man, Hobbes. I'd be tempted to bet everything I own that Sanchez will not QB the Jets to the playoffs this year.

Okay. So let me get this straight.

Hobbes: Garrard was brought in here for nothing but a backup, and Sanchez's job was never in jeopardy.

    False.

Hobbes: Garrard will most likely be hurt.

    True.

Here, you were partially correct. So was I. You believed that Garrard was brought in for nothing more than being a #2 QB- essentially not competition. The link I provided in the above post disproves that- and proves what I thought (that Garrard was brought in as competition), correct.

Hobbes: Geno Smith is no competition to Sanchez, Sanchez will be week 1 starter, he will play every game barring injury, and bring the Jets to the playoffs.

So far, none of that is true. MM came out and said there is competition and so did Rex. Training camp hasnt even begin and the competition hasnt even started. Sanchez has not been named the week 1 starter and he has not brought the Jets to the playoffs.

As Ive said, I believe Geno was brought in for competition (true) and eventual replacement for when Sanchez bombs (to be determined). I also never said Sanchez wont be the week 1 starter, but just that I do not want him to and personally do not think he should be (much of that is personal opinion, and nothing is incorrect). I also think Sanchez wont be the starter the entire year (yet again, tbd).

So essentially Hobbes, you are far from "2-0". I mean if you want to believe that, then sure, whatever floats your boat. I just spelled out the FACTS- what you have said, and what I have.

And also, you are basing a large part of your "Geno-fer-lopez" Diva shit off of some unfactual post about Geno buying a ferrari meanwhile he hasnt even signed his contract- which of course means he's the next Revis.

    Here's what I don't get

If we were able to axe Sanchez with a major cap hit he would be cut but since he can't be we're really considering him

This season is a wash anyway let Geno learn on the fly

    He's already embarrassed the franchise.

The only chance they have to save face is to play Sanchez and hope he can play at least decently.

Or, according to Hobbes, all Sanchez has got to do is keep both hands on the ball.

    Otherwise, he's good to go.

    *sigh*

Betting lines dont mean shit. They are based on perception, to even the flow of money on the game. And who would bet on the Jets ?

After the Jets dismal performance last year, i wouldnt have been surprised if the spread was higher.

It will be interesting to see how the line moves, between now and then.

Yes getting deep into the playoffs twice in his first two two years, putting up 32 scores in his third. And only having one losing season, while playing with Rueland,Gates,Gilyard and so on while his TE,and starting WRs, missing almost 30 games, and playing for aguy thats not an OC,,,is utterly embarassing.

My guess is, you werent here for the Kotite years.

Os he flawed, and careless with the ball...certainly. Has he accomplished more in less time than any QB not named Namath...certainly.

Was he extremely green coming out of college,,,absolutely.

How about we give the guy a fucking break, and let him have a season with a real OC.

The hiring of offensive coaches under Tannenbaum And Rex is far more embarassing than Sanchez has
    been.

It should have been clear to them when the threw aside Penni gton for Favre, because Favre who has forgotton more offense than Tanny and Rex will ever know wasnt shy about making Schottys incompetence clear.

Two things would have spared us the last two seasons. Penny stays, Sanchez gets drafted and sits with Penny as a mentor. Favre comes in, Schotty gets replaced when Favre exits.

Youre wrong about the Garrard backup thing. Thats all he was ever going to be. Early competition, and then a backup. His injury history dictated that along the way, something would happen, and Sanchez would start, but you would have had a safety blanket for a couple games, iif Sanchez suffered some minor injury,.

    Look at it this way.

You bring in Garrard. He plays well, and so does Sanchez, as we all know he does on the practice field.m you start the China doll, he gets hurt again, now you are back to Sanchez/Sackleroy.

Or you play Sanchez, who has missed....1? Game due to injury..,,andke Garrard healthy...

Which decision is more likely to be made?

Competition is a nice Mantra...but its mostly noise. You think Caleb Schlaerauf is really competing for that center slot?

You think Willie Colon, reallyhas competition for his guard spot, and hes on his last legs.

I have predicted them a few times.

Sanchez is better than Freeman, locker, and anyone the Bills start. And, our defense will eat those three alive.

The question mark game is New England, on Thursday night.

They have a greatly reduced offense, tue Jets have a greatly improved offense, rex knows NEs scheme, but there will be no time for NE to see how the MM offense has been adapted to the Jets personnel.

You cant go look at Mike Vick, throwing to a different cast of players and call it a day. There is a huge potential to steal that game.

P.s. I said that long before Hernandez was out of the equation.

And again, so you guys can stop derailing this thread with more Sanchez sucks replies.

I like Geno so far. Cant wait to see him play. But...i think its best for the team if they get Sanchez on track, and let Geno grow,

He might be Bruce Banner now, Id prefer to seem take over the team as the Incredible Hulk.
