Nice argument. Except, he just dropped abot 5% of his anticipate total NEt Worth on a car,so he aint that worried about it, and he isnt leaving it on the table, hes trying to force a guarantee that the guy ahead of him didnt get.

And there are two considerations here...

The first is that any delay in reporting to camp further solidifies his backup status.....

    And...

The fact that if his neophyte agent proves to be problematic, on an issue like this...is the GM, going tp be more likely or less likely to open himself up to a Mevi$ situation with a player at a far more important positiion?

Remember, Sanchez aint done yet, and next year contains more QBs.....

Don't mean to pick on you, I've seen a lot of people spell it incorrectly. It's 4 letters, we should be able to get that down as a fan base ...

i know, my point was a little contract holdup before camp doesn't mean he can't earn the start. Tanny was my example that its possible and not a detriment.

this really doesn't seem like it won't be resolved or will lead to any substantial problems. its just a going over details, don't think too much of it.

All you hear is negative shit.
    -Draft Day shenanigans
    -Signing with Roc Nation
    -Trouble w/off. scheme
    -No show at Jets West
    -Ferrari purchase
    -Contract dispute

Geno needs a PR firm to step up his image.

I agree with you. Geno needs to get the same PR firm that helps Mark Sanchez out during offseasons. You notice how everybody in the media thinks he can bounce back. Before the draft, media were RAILING on him...someone must be helping him out

    Please.

The only reason, the media laid off Sanchez....is because yelling "Buttfumble" doesnt sell papers any more, it amuses a half dozen people on the Sanchez sux thread.

The real, and blossoming story, is Geno as Diva...aka Geno-fer Lopez.

    First the leaving the draft.

Then Firing his agents because of where he got drafted.

Then the non answer about Jests west. Then declining.

Then the Ferrari. (p.s. sanchez made 10x as much...bought a toyota)

Now the upcoming hold out over 6% in guaranteed money.

Its what the buttfumble retards dont seem to get. This is a Vagiants town. So anything Jets.,.is going to get wildly overblown in the media.

Its bad enough that its unfair to the players. Its worse that alleged Jets fans play the media card selectively.

Geno, is a young man, and the media sales approach to him is grossly unjust.

But that applies to Sanchez as well.

    See above, sheep.

P.S. ladies, its already becoming reported that Sanchez is likely to be your opening day starter...

    So, lets check,

Garrard, Hobbes was right (he wouldnt see opening day)

    Sanchez/Geno....Hobbes will be right.

    Batting 1000.

    Laxin, Armand...,not so much.

When they win 3 of the first 4, Miss Cleo, and Marilyn Vos Savant will be calling me for advice.

    P.S. Armand...I find your shorthand confusing ......

    Is it LOL....OLO....LOL....What is OLO?

Or.....LOL...OL...OL...OL. or were you going quad on the Out Loud?

LOLOLOLOL means I find something very funny. Same for LMFAO and LMAO. lol is filler space.

And you're so delusional. You honestly think that with the WRs we have now, we're going to win 11 games, the division, AND the bye. You must smoke meth. Even my most optimistic prediction is not that ridiculous. I don't even think 11-5 will get a bye.

My post about Geno preceding this one was a lot longer, a lot more negative sounding and touched on the how the media affects our perceptions of our team.

I erased most of it simply because I didn't want to come across as anti Geno...that's fine, as you covered everything I wrote in your inimitable fashion.

But c'mon Hobbes. Going 1 for 1 isn't really batting a thousand...and nobody would have put money down on Garrard staying healthy. Geno coming out of camp as the starter?...well you may find some action there, though the odds are in Sancho's (and your) favor.

I'd be a lot more impressed if you predict which 3 games out of the first 4 we'll win...Bucs/Pats/Bills/Titans?...I see us coming out of the gate slow no matter who starts.

  15. Regardless of how many games you think the Jets will win or lose. People are overrating the impact of the WR position.

Yes all starting 22 positions play a part in winning & losing..but in the grand scheme of things WR is one of the LEAST important. It's certainly an x factor & an equalizer...but it's a window dressing type position.

If the Jets have a good year or a bad year for that matter it will come down to QB play(most importantly avoiding turnovers) & winning/losing the battle up front.

People are fixating on the WR position b/c A. it's the weakest area of the team which Jet fans love to dwell on B. The way last season ended when nobody could get open.Frankly that was more of an injury issue than anything else.

People are entitled to believe that this team will be lousy...but I just don't think it's accurate to point to the WR position as the source. You can win on offense simply with good trench play & avoiding turnovers. Especially w/ a D like Rex's

You're as bad as the media that you criticize Hobbes. You are the only one on this board that truly believes Geno is a diva. You are one of the few here that actually believes and feeds into the media bull shit.

And you know Hobbes, you come off like a 10 year old whining bitch when you say shit like "Geno-fer-lopez" or "Vagiants" or "Laxitives". To say the least, it doesnt help your case.

Oh yeah, where is this story about Geno Smith buying a ferrari? It seems like something that just manifested out of no where. I googled it. Nothing. Looked at Geno's twitter feed. Nothing. So where is this story? No link, or it never happened.

As for the other post about you "winning"... Garrard, sure he didnt make it to camp. But here's a story from a similar source that you are believe whole heartedly-

    http://www.rotoworld.com/content/pl...news.asp?sport=NFL&id=5192&line=264417&spln=1

Once again, I knew it all along, the job is Sanchez's to lose. Of course the incumbent starter is going to be the one with a "firm grip" on the starting job right now as opposed to a rookie who hasnt even gone through training camp.

I 100% believe that when this season is over, Sanchez will not be the starter and will have no future here in NY. Now that Hobbes, is something that I know you will be wrong on. Once the season starts, Sanchez will have a very short leash, and at some point Geno will see the field.

The Jets are not committed to Sanchez as their future. Period.

Garrard abruptly retired in May due to knee issues. Per reporter Rich Cimini, the Jets "didn't consider Sanchez's contract untradable," and indeed there were rumors they tried sneaking him into the Darrelle Revis trade to Tampa. The Garrard thing is water under the bridge, but the story is more confirmation that the Jets are internally not thrilled with the idea of keeping Sanchez around.

Too bad the other 31 teams did "consider Sanchez's contract untradable"...

The Jets FO are so inept...they painted themselves into a corner with Sanchez.
What they should have done is surround him with quality coaching...that's relatively cheap. Or at least a viable running game.

Fuckin' Jets...I wonder what their stop/loss on Sanchez was.
How much cash were they willing to lose?

    okay this is seriously hilarious:

    http://thegraybull.sportsblog.com/post/115993/it_s_confirmed_sanchez_will.html

    CONFIRMED!
ITS DONE. ESPN,SI, and the Daily News said so!

Its take them 2 months to realize it but clearly sanchez is the guy! they've all been given no other information than what they saw in mini camp but its definitely happening! From considered a tie to a win for Sanchize with 0 plays on the field. Amazing, hobbes was right all Sanchez needed was a better OC, now he's so good he doesn't even need to play to win the starting job!

I'll reiterate that I'm fine with that possibility (#6 starting i mean), but unless I hear it from the coaches mouths I'm not buying it. the sudden consensus that seems to have been built from nothing but speculation is laughable.
