That is interesting. I do think Geno should run more. Seems to put the O in a rhythm when he makes a play with his legs. But the lanes aren't there because we constantly face stacked boxes. However, sometimes they are and he'll throw it away or stay pat and take a sack so I think it also is a decision making issue.
I think he should definitely run more. he's got nearly 150 rushing yards in the last 3 games, and throughout he's looked... pretty solid. nothing amazing but solid, certainly take that for year rather than whatever hell he was doing the 3 games previous. loggin out, Merry Christmas everybody!
It's Christmas morning Stokes...lots of things we agree on and time for Peace on Earth and Goodwill among loyal passionate Jet fans Merry Christmas to you and yours and to all.the good Jet fans here at TGG Thanks Petro for this place, too
Geno Smith joins Cam Newton, Russel Wilson, and RGIII as the only four to have passed for 3,000 and run for 300 in rookie season.
That overthrown pass to Nelson hurts. I'm not sure Geno isn't anything more than a game manager who can run with the ball. His accuracy is suspect at times. I hope we bring a vet to challenge him for the starting spot next year.
Too bad he has half the TD passes, twice the interceptions, and twice the fumbles lost. (I averaged the rookie seasons of those three and compared it to Geno).
dudes had an effective last few games. nothing elite, but somethings clicked. he's getting it now, too late to save the season, but he's found a groove. its almost a shame that the season has to end and he can't play anymore. I think this season for all its ups and downs has been good for Smith. Honestly I can't wait to see what he produces next year.
Geno has to throw for 300 yards and 3 TDs to win him over. Another solid if not very good game. Really happy for our 4 rookies(Winters played a hell of a game) who all shined in today's game.
A little late, but Geno looked really comfortable the lat 1/4 of the season. Two back to back no turnover games brings a smile to my face. Geno also looks to be using his legs more effectively late in the season than earlier this year
Too bad we don't play in a warm-weather climate or a dome. That's still my main worry with Geno. Cold weather and/or rain he was a total disaster. We lucked out late this year with not real windy/bad weather games.
Geno Smith's final stats: Passing TD's: 12 Interceptions: 21 Passing yards:3,046 Rushing TD's:6 fumbles: 4 Rushing Yards: 366 he's got the (edit) third most Interceptions in the NFL he's finished tied with Cam Newton for the most rushing touchdowns in the NFL by a QB. He'll finish with an 18:25 TD/TO ratio.
That's just how some people are no matter what they won't like him. No point in arguing with them though no matter what we want Geno is and will be the starting QB of the team we all love so hating on him is just pointless. I know i'd rather have Geno than the "franchise qbs" Flacco, Tannehill, and Eli.
Definitely not an all world rookie season but he did show some signs of starter calibre play. I still don't feel sold on him but think if we put a heavy emphasis on the offense this off season and see what he can do with some weapons, if he does well then that's good but if he doesn't then we can move on.
