I had very mixed feelings on Geno today. On one hand, he made some nice throws, some smart decisions, and had to deal with his inexperienced receivers dropping balls all day.

On the other hand, he was given good protection by the Oline for most of the game which he negated by holding on to the ball forever. He also threw behind/over his targets too often and threw a horrible pick to end the game.

I hate to say it, but he reminded me a lot of Mark Sanchez tonight...

No offense JetBlue (and not to absolve the receivers), but Geno missed a lot more than two plays.

Silver lining is that all 3 INTs were poor throws not poor decisions.

Obviously he is blinded by the fact that receivers on both teams were dropping balls.

We could have tied the game if Geno never threw that interception that was going to Holmes, but at the same time we could have won if Gates secured that TD.

Geno had a rookie game. You guys need to cool down and realize that this is going to be a season with a lot of growing pains. Lets go through a full season before giving an assessment.

Some of the analysis is absolutely insane. If Geno had competent receivers, everyone would be singing a much different tune. And anyone who expected Geno to have a great year is kidding themselves. Andrew Luck had a 23 Td - 18 INT ratio his first year. Peyton Manning 26 to 28.

I just can't take the wild swings in opinion after one game.

I was the biggest smith hater, despite his picks tonigjt. I'm still encouraged. He's did enough for the jets to win. Bad pcks at the end on him. Guys have to catch the ball, when it hits them in the face mask. Shouldn't have come o a scramble t the end. Even in a LOsshe's changing my opinion of him each week.

    The defense must be pissed.

I give him until the bye week, then you'll see Simms

For the 10000000000000000th time there is a difference between a rookie making rookie mistakes and a 5th year vet making rookie mistakes.

Constantly ignoring playmakers in the draft will bite you eventually as you end up with a WR and TE situation like we have...ie shit

The last turnover I won't blame him much on, young QB and the Pats KNEW he had to pass...not giving him a pass on the play but the one that kills me is the first one...that one was the killer, the last two with the Pats knowing the Jets had to pass and a rookie at QB, not a good combination.
