This deserves its own thread. My sports heroes passing away is happening, of course, but this one really hurts. It was from complications of Lewy body dementia and COVID-19. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/29797239/tom-seaver-hall-fame-pitcher-mets-legend-dies-75
It's a sad, sad day. The greatest Met to ever wear the uniform. His performance down the down the stretch in 1969 is the stuff of legend - complete game victory after complete game victory. The Mets came from 10 back to overtake the Cubs on that performance. Absolutely unheard of today. They don't make 'em like that anymore. RIP Tom Terrific
Wow this is really sad news I’m a Yankee fan but I did respect Tom Seaver he was a great pitcher..... My cousin who was a Met fan Took me to a game in 1975 when he almost no one hit the Cubs .... I was just kid then but I remember the buzz in the crowd as we went through the innings without giving Up a hit one of my lasting memories as a kid...
