Absolutely agree with your last sentence. Adding the IMPACT players like that could take this D to another level. I feel like a lot of people are ignoring the fact that Clark is 25!! It isn’t like we are paying a 27/28/29 year old player to huge deal.

It's Tuesday morning. So many rumors don't know what to believe. Dan Jeremiah tweeted last week not to believe them all. I agree. Rumors especially from the Jets who are trying to trade back you can't believe. I heard the Raiders love Oliver. Maybe the Jets are playing it off they like him to get the Raiders to move up one spot. Either way you never know. I have a suspicion we'll make a trade with the Raiders for the one spot. Between Kyler Murray maybe dropping, Oliver or Devin White I think they want to secure their player. I can see the Jets getting a second round pick for it (that's probably a dream there). I'd like the Jets then to trade again. Drop to 6-10 and get another second. With the 6-10 pick draft Jonah Williams with the two second round picks draft McCoy or Jenkins for the center position, a wr like Debo Samuel or NKeal Harry with the other pick and then two edge rushers like Polite and another in the third or a cb. From 4-7 take the best available but focus on RB, TE and CB at that point. That's my dream scenario. Probably won't happen. The Jets probably won't make a trade and pick the 6 picks they have and I'll sit there wanting more.

Lots of people not really reading the full post.

If we give 2020 1 for Clark AND THEN trade back and get a 2020 1 in return, we net clark, can use the later pick on OL, and have more assets in this draft. The fact that some are opposed to this makes me truly scratch my head.

This! Let's use Redskins as an example. If the jets moved back 13 spots and picked up a 2019 2nd and 2020 1st, what is not to love about that?

Then flip one of the 2020 1sts for Clark. Use the pick 15 for OT and the 2nd rounder for C.

Jets would upgrade 3 positions with this scenario.

The 2020 1st round pick needs to go for our future LT not a 4-3 DE who doesn't even fit our D, and then having to pay him $17+ million per season. It makes no sense, especially when we can draft an OLB pass rusher and have him cheaply for 5 seasons!

Why you think trading a #1 pick for a 4-3 DE who has never played OLB and whom we'll have to pay $17+ million a year is a good idea is beyond me, when we can simply draft a great OLB edge rushing prospect in the draft and pay him cheaply for the next 5 seasons. It would be one thing if we didn't; have a shot at drafting an elite edge rusher in this draft, but we do. It would also be another thing if Clark fit our D scheme, but he doesn't. The 2020 #1 pick has to go for our future LT.
