No it was the bills, not the raiders.

As said before the draft is a crapshoot and if we have a higher pick then there is a good chance that we would take McFadden. So winning is great in all aspects.
    1. We beat herm
    2. We avoid McFadden

I want to beat herm and I don't want McFadden.

Since 2005 there have been 3 straight drafts in which people at the top wanted to trade down and were unable to. This is because trading up since the late 90's has been very unprofitable for the teams trading up. At this point Ryan Leaf, Eli Manning and Michael Vick stand out as glaring examples of how much damage you can do to a team by committing that much value to one player.

Next year there are again going to be a couple of teams at the top who want to trade down, given the absence of a franchise QB at the top of the draft, and again they will be unable to.

The Lions desperately wanted to trade out of the 2 slot last season so they could avoid picking yet another WR in the top 10. They couldn't. The year before the Texans very much wanted to capitalize on the Reggie Bush fever by trading down, but they couldn't.

In 2005 the 49ers and the Dolphins both wanted to trade down. The 49ers because they weren't sold on Alex Smith as the 1 pick and felt they could get him several picks lower and the Dolphins because they felt any of Ronnie Brown, Cedric Benson or Cadillac Williams would fill their need at RB. Neither team got so much as a bite on their trade proposals.

You can't trade down in the NFL any more unless there is a clear franchise player available on 1 or 2 and even then teams are very wary of being burned.

No, we played Buffalo the last week of that game. I was there. We played Oakland Week 17 last year.

I wont get into the McFadden side of it but the value of our pick and having the choice to pick specifically who we want to me is more valuable. If McFadden is not a good pick I trust Mr. T and Mangini to see that. They have done a good job in 2 years here and I expect that to continue. If this was any other coach but Herm I think everyone would want a L

OK let's play fill in the blank:

A loss tomorrow gets the Jets at least the 3rd pick in the draft and possibly the 2nd pick depending on what St. Louis does. This means we likely can draft either Glen Dorsey, Chris Long, Jake Long or McFadden.

A win tomorrow get the Jets.....? What, a "revenge" win against Herm? This provides satisfaction to you the fan and nobody else. The players have moved on, consider it part of the business, and don't care. To say you're fine with losing 5 spots at the top of the draft just so you can feel good for 48 hours for beating Edwards is silly, shortsighted and honestly, just not very smart thinking.

I bet all of those teams had offers on the table from teams wanting to trade down. I know specifically the Saints did the year Bush was in the draft, and they could have gotten something significant to trade down a spot or 2. But they held out for more

In theory, if we get the #2 pick and want to trade down, and all we can get is a 7th rounder, that's still better than if we had gotten the worse pick originally. And in real life I'd be shocked if we couldn't at least pick up an extra #2, and probably more to move down a few spots.

Hmmmm..........Best RB prospect in years available with our pick. Im pretty sure we can't trade down and pick up value or anything. Losing tomorrow can be spun so many positive ways. Ok you want the 7th pick of the draft so bad. How about #2 pick trade down to #7 and pick up a 2nd and a 3rd?
