He's virtually un-tradable. No way do you trade him before / during the 2013 season. If you do you will suffer the cap casualties out of the ass.
I totally agree. I dont see Holmes as a viable trade piece, and will most likely gone next year. So expect him to bring his A game.
Trade him Nacho and Holmes give away the football more so the same and Holmes getting injured and just throwing the ball up is just a pussy move... Cant have a guy like that on this team in regards to both
I didn't ignore anything. There are a lot of factors involved. For one, the play of Sanchez. He was known to miss wide open receivers, in part because the line play was shoddy and he was rushed a lot in the pocket. The run game was also weak that year, and he didn't really have a complimentary receiver that could take all the attention off Holmes. Often by the time the WRs got open it was too late. Targets isn't the only factor, but blaming it all on Holmes and citing absolutely nothing but the yardage stat is very shortsighted, when you look at our offense in 2011. These guys just keep repeating the same generic nonsense and using buzz words like "bad team mate" "selfish player" and "cancer" because they are just appealing to their emotions. 11 players make a play happen, not 1 or 2 and Holmes has only had a couple questionable situations. (He called out the line in the media thinking it was his job as captain, and he had the meltdown during the Dolphins game where he got into an argument with the line because they SUCKED). I do believe he's slightly overpaid, but get this team more playmakers on offense and improved QB play and Holmes will easily be in the top 20 again.
Heh ... and that's more receptions and yards than any Holmes season with the Jets. It's because Kerley is really a top 10 receiver who has never had a good qb to help him get there. Just look at Fitzgerald and you'll understand. He doesn't get enough targets. /sarcasm
I guess the Redskins should trade that pussy RGIII. His knee blew out and he fumbled and didn't even attempt to protect the ball or get it back IN THE PLAYOFFS. What a cancer!!!! Holmes was in excruciating pain and thought the play was over so he tossed the ball. A mistake, yes, but this kind of thing happens all the time. It happens in basketball too. TOs off injuries are normal when they have the ball.
 Another brilliant argument. Sorry, but you are now on my ignore list. You don't add anything to any conversations on here other than emotional rants devoid of all logic. You got PWNED in this thread and got caught lying and making up stats to try to prove a fake point. I'm not wasting my time anymore.
Can't be done bc it actually costs more to the team to move him than to have him on our roster. I was hoping one of the cap gurus here could figure out a way, that has the receiving party pay the cap penalties; as I have no idea how it works? I thought we paid some of the cap burden for Denver when they unloaded Tebro on us? Anyways, Tannenbaum was a f%$#ing idiot at evaluating talent and estimating said talents value. Would love to ship Holmes anywhere and for anything, just move on from his nonsense. Not a fan anymore of his antics and lack of production. We have a shitty QB, fact. Holmes has shown, even as a captain, this is strictly about 'Tone time. When the going gets tough 'Tone punches out. He points fingers, he gives up on plays and he completely removes himself from the team like an immature adolescent. If we can't get him the ball, and he's not really going all out to catch the ball or lay it on the line to win, why pay him his obscene contract? We need to clean house that is the first contract I would clean. Build on the Oline and running game with dagger play action pass. Lots of counters, traps, hb screens and bootleg play action. I thought the Jags had interest in bringing hometown son Tebow. Package Holmes in the deal, maybe Wilson or Cro and take a stab at MJD. MJD wanted out b4 his injury, imagine what he could add to our running game. He's had a lot of rest, veteran, hard nosed runner. MJD, would add a lot more versatility and strength to our offense than Holmes. MJD and Greene 1-2 punch would be fierce.
Whatever makes you sleep better at night buddy. If you have the most targets you are the #1 WR on the depth chart. I guess when Peyton raped the Jets defense back in 2009, Garcon and Collie were the #1 WRs considering Reggie Wayne didn't really do jack shit that game.
By definition you have to be a hater to condemn someone for one play that happened to be the same play where he got injured and his season ended. I find that kind of narrow minded attitude amazing.
Holmes and RG3 shouldn't be compared in any way, none. Holmes is a guy who trailing by 20 in the 4th quarter is celebrating first downs. He was suspended by the league, dumped by one of the best organizations in football for a practically nothing and so far has produced very little in spite of the NYJ embracing this guy and giving him everything he could ever want. This hater concept regarding Holmes is frankly boring. All we want as Jets fans is for top talent to play like top talent and help the team win. If they actually do just that we will tolerate almost anything else. Holmes real problem is he is a bad actor and for a guy with loads of talent hasn't performed very well. Not only has he not performed very well, instead of sucking it up and trying to lead he has been destructive. We have to live with him because he is grossly overpaid and we have few options. It would be nice if he worked his tail off shut his mouth and handed the ball back to refs about 90 times next season like he knew what his job was.
